Look, it was intended as a joke... Some of you did get it, some of you didn't... what can I do ??

Numbers, again ?? I thought we clarified that... it's not about numbers !!

either its a joke - which makes it about the numbers
or its not about the numbers which means its something else entirely

anyways surely you must have seen that naming the pic as you did would lead ppl to believe you were claiming the car could do that speed ?

regardless of all this its a fantastic achievment on piets part to have put this together.
just dont take it to Italy :p

Yes it would, and I'm the first to admit that I would like to see those numbers !! :) ... but it was up to you to believe it or not !!

Anyway, enough of this..it wasn't supposed to take this kind of response !

As for the fantastic achievement... I think it was more than that ! Believe me... I have no words, or numbers, to quantify the effort to accomplish such a task. It is perfect...!

Me ???? No... far from it ! I don't force anyone to do anything !!
Ask me if I would like to see it... yes I would ! But that's a very remote possibility... I guess it's my engineering background talking...

Pictures came out rather nice, don't you think ??

Personally I don't see that it is at all about top speed, or acceleration. You can get all of that and more from a modern car with all the safety that goes with it. For me these cars are a wonderful blend of engineering and art: a form of moving sculpture where either driving or just looking at them makes you feel good. I certainly would not wish to risk damage to car or self in pursuit of a statistic.

The original Jota became airborne while the driver was heading for max: why take the chance of history repeating itself?

VERY well stated Piet. My feelings exactly. I felt certain your sentiments would mirror those of most of us...

I agree... but new cars lack the drama and the sense or purpose. High speeds are nothing on modern cars... it's too easy.
On the Miura it was a ceremony... it demanded concentration, effort, and favourable conditions... the same for a blast on a mountain road. It will be slower than a modern hot-hatch...but the fun is exponentially higher.

Maybe a bit of Latin temperament....

It may just be the pictures, but I'd say that the pictures on the lamborghiniregistry match the color of the striped one fairly well (more yellowish) compared to what I would consider my favorite color...

Incorrect. The striped car in Australia is 3961. The ex-Twiggy car is in England and is 3676.

I found when I owned 5064 that its lime green (see post above) could develop in pictures taken in harsh sunlight to be an almost lemon yellow color.
