Some years ago in a former life, I was a commercial photographer. One of my accounts was a major food company. I produced "color standard" photos of their products for the QA departments in the various plants. I learned early on that representing color accurately in a photograph can at best be difficult as the medium's ability to record the spectrum is a compromise (not all colors represented equally) and is greatly influenced by variations in the reflectivity of the material photographed (including to light outside our visible range). The "color temperature" of the light falling on the subject makes all the difference in the world and "Daylight" is constantly changing throughout the "Day". Studio shooters use controlled artificial lights but there are even challenges there. Add to this the inevitable "color shift" that occurs as an image ages and the limitations of the printing process (another generation away from the original) and it's somewhat amazing if anything looks good. Digital photography and Photoshop has made color rendition more flexible and correctable.

I cringe when I see or hear someone describing "True Color" from an image. While there are instruments used to measure colors, primarily "True Color" is purely subjective.

I see... I'm now coming to the conclusion that with professional photography skills comes the ability to purchase Miuras. I'll keep that in mind!

(I believe Joe will catch my joke :).)

A small correction if I may: offers of $1 million will be "considered".

Thanks for posting images of 0961 Walter...

Ive noticed that Miura restorations performed in Italy are not very - how shall I say this? - authentic.

For example, that engine block should be in a much more flat silver paint and not in the shiny finish you currently see. Also its common knowlege that the shock absorbers were orange (with the springs powder blue) but I always see them painted over in the same blue as the springs in restorations that come from that region.

Also, I prefer a total restoration to be sympathetic with an effort made to re-manufacture items in the correct material. A shiny new (wrong-for-period) stainless steel exhaust is a bit jarring and they can still be made in the correct mild steel and finished in correct wrinkle black with a little effort - if one even cares.

The Chassis ID strip on the leading cross member (the one in the blurred image) should be finished with a strip of red paint, but maybe they havent got to that detail at this point in the restoration.

Still this is a historical car and its way cool that its coming back to life and thats whats most important.

Here it is back in the day at the 1967 Barcelona Motor Show.

i have to agree some restoration performed here have not "that" attention to detail, i am happy to say there are some great exceptions though(i had seen some reproducing all to correct spec, perfect attention to detail in all the car, till decals under the bonnet )

I wonder if the model has aged as well in the last 40 years.

Orange Lamborghinis always look great. I don't understand why Lambo makes so many yellow cars, when orange looks much better on them. :)

The "Arancio" color is way cool.

This is chassis number 4820 and was English concessionaire Roger Phillip's personal car built as one of ten Right-Hand-Drive cars for England. Original livery was "Argento Indian" (Silver) with "Blu" (Dark blue) interior. Converted over to Left-Hand-Drive by DK Engineering in Watford England for Stan Zagorsky of New York circa early eighties. Next to collector Benny Caiola who had Alberto Pedretti restore it to its current livery. Next to a NY dealer then a Gilroy CA dealer before going to a Northern Californian owner circa 2003.

    A genuine SV.

another month another 10% on the value.

am i right in thinking this seems rather high considering its in the wrong configuration and wrong colour (which the experts seem to say can negatively affect value)
