My mistake. I got a PM that appeared be spam. After attempting to re-read it, I decided to just delete it and move on with my life. -Daniel p.s. Realistically, how fast is the space shuttle?
At an altitude of 300Km the orbital speed would be 7.73 Km/sec (about 15,026 miles per hour) You didn't really want to know did you?
It was more an homage to some of the great Fchat threads of yesteryear. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94416
Daniel, Why do you not respond to my massage. I assure you that it can be yours, all 226 million! I just needs your help get it out of the Republic N.A. Bank of the Americans. Please, urgent, send me your address and telephone!
My Dad is considering a Bentley Arnage, or a Veyron. What kind of mileage can we expect on either one?
A Veyron? Well, lets see. 16 cylinder 488 cubic inch engine, weight over two tons, with four tubos and over 1,000 HP. Given that the power to overcome aerodynamic friction is proportional to the cube of the speed, then to go twice the speed, you need eight times the power. Hmmm. Yep, its how you use it, but I think that you might get 10 minutes to the tank getting to a speed around 250MPH. Assuming that he is not yet unattached to his life, I would say it might get a few miles to the gallon, tops.
Uhhhmmm... I think you meant square of the speed, not cube of the speed. So you need four times the power (actually four times the torque) to go twice the speed, that is if you are just considering drag due to dynamic pressure, which rapidly becomes the dominating opposing force. Sorry, but for a thread as important as this it is imperative that there be at least one anal idiot around to ensure that all information as presented is technically correct.
NOT THAT FAST>>> If you take into account the countdown time prior to launch, you could get 1/2 way around the world faster in a BBJ...
For the love of God, why don't people get in the right lane if they're only going to drive the speed limit? Jimmy cracked corn....and I don't care.
My brother's mother in law, whatever that is to me, she is persistent about making people go the speed limit. She will stick to 54 or 55 miles an hour in the LEFT lane and insist that it is the limit and people should obey it! She lives in Ft. Worth. If it were Houston... she'd be ticketed for impeding traffic since it flows at 85+, no matter the speed limit.
