Miura, the original supercar

Some years ago in a former life, I was a commercial photographer. One of my accounts was a major food company. I produced "color standard" photos of their products for the QA departments in the various plants. I learned early on that representing color accurately in a photograph can at best be difficult as the medium's ability to record the spectrum is a compromise (not all colors represented equally) and is greatly influenced by variations in the reflectivity of the material photographed (including to light outside our visible range). The "color temperature" of the light falling on the subject makes all the difference in the world and "Daylight" is constantly changing throughout the "Day". Studio shooters use controlled artificial lights but there are even challenges there. Add to this the inevitable "color shift" that occurs as an image ages and the limitations of the printing process (another generation away from the original) and it's somewhat amazing if anything looks good. Digital photography and Photoshop has made color rendition more flexible and correctable.

I cringe when I see or hear someone describing "True Color" from an image. While there are instruments used to measure colors, primarily "True Color" is purely subjective.

 

I see... I'm now coming to the conclusion that with professional photography skills comes the ability to purchase Miuras. I'll keep that in mind!

and NOW...............$750,000.

i have to agree some restoration performed here have not "that" attention to detail, i am happy to say there are some great exceptions though(i had seen some reproducing all to correct spec, perfect attention to detail in all the car, till decals under the bonnet )

 

any of the black car in front of the miura, Walter?

 

I wonder if the model has aged as well in the last 40 years.

 

More proof that good work isn't necessarily geographical.

nope! It was a Ferrari SWB Competitione. Very dark blue with a white stripe. Moss`famous car from Goodwood `61(?)?

Orange Lamborghinis always look great. I don't understand why Lambo makes so many yellow cars, when orange looks much better on them.

if its the '61 Goodwood TT winner then its 2735GT (a very special car)

 

another month another 10% on the value.

am i right in thinking this seems rather high considering its in the wrong configuration and wrong colour (which the experts seem to say can negatively affect value)
