Yes it is Gorgeous! Isn't it amazing that one single man "Giotto Bizzarrini " was able to build this beautiful car, essentially by himself. In my opinion it stands up against all the other cars of it's era, yet it didn't take hundreds of engineers and fabricators to build it. One aspect of Bizzarrini that isn't written much about is the styling of his cars. How much of a hand did he have in the designs? Obviously he had good taste as many of his cars still look good today, but who designed the look of the P538? , the Duke's enclosed car or the Europa ? Was it Bizzarrini ?
How strange to find so many pictures taken by me in the mid-seventies on this chat forum. 0248 was imported to Sweden in 1975 from Locarno in Switzerland, it took part in the happy-go-lucky Cognac Rally close to Angouleme in 1976 with the ex-owner behind the wheel. The date is clearly shown on the pictures but these have obviously been manipulated and are not there. It was at the track, Anderstorp, in Sweden, not on the track!! It was, and is, a normal Stradale. Of course you can use a Stradale today in a race, but that doesn´t make it a race car. The original race cars are well known to Bizzarrini enthusiasts!!
Well, welcome to the forum. This is exactly why the ongoing thread should continue in an appropriate manner, so we can see and hear from the people that count.
That's a good question! And one I don't really know the answer to. As you may know, the fibreglass body of at least the first P538 (maybe the others) was built by the boatbuilding firm of Vincenzo Catarsi, at Cecina, Livorno. But who styled it?? This is the German show car, at the time owned by a guy in Saarbrucken. Original paintwork was orange, then blue and later, as you can see, red. It had a BMW engine conversion.
Poor quality but interesting picture from a french newspaper... Edgar BERNEY is getting in trouble with the P538 at the Le Mans start in 1966. Other cars car Dino 206s, Porsche, Matra and Alpine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
He is not able to. Because he and his alias friends are still desperately demanding !! the complete history and the copies of the original documents of 0261 from the present owner. Probably to fake them and present another car as the TRUE 0261.
I ve receive a email from him and will go to see the car as soon as I can go To Sicily... It s not bthe first time that 2 cars have the same chassis number, nothings really special. Photos = Interpretation of P538 2007 by a designer in Italy. I personnaly believe that the new P538 LE MANS 2007 should look like this car, it will make more sens Image Unavailable, Please Login
Please indulge a slight thread hijack : Mr Lackner : a friend used to own the Yellow Grifo # 179 I'm guessing you may know its whereabouts - if so how is the car doing ?
This is an unfair and dishonest comment, I ve send you many private emails and you never respond, but you actualy post threat against me on the iso forum just because, I ve denounce the false claim that you have bought a real P538 P578-006 when in reality you have bought an 1998 LM CORSA CAN AM built by Luigi Moreschi. You are trying to deceive members of the club Iso even if some were aware of your manipulation, they prefer to keep silent. Me, to write my book, I do trust that the evidence, and I do not just lip service. Regarding your car that I do not know, I can not judge. If there are two cars, this is what I am going to publish. You refuse to show me evidence as to what your car is original, it's your choice. You have refused to show me your evidence itself bidders regarding your LM CAN AM Corsa. I am not going to repeat the words that you put on different forums. It would have been preferable to discuss it other than on forums but your attitude has always been aggressive. You have always insult me in the ISO forum and as I was not there, I could not defend myself. You have acted like a coward. An honest man was acting honestly give the other the opportunity to defend and give his views. That has not been the case, then please stop your negatives comments. I seek the truth, nothing more, nothing less. I give you the chance to clearly provide all your evidences, you refuse. Then stop complain Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, Jimmie, it is alive and well and has been owned since 1998 by a very old friend of mine, who used to also have another which he had owned since the 1980's. He has now sold that and I hope we may see more of him and the Grifo once he has retired back to the UK.
What about Bizzarrini today? I have found this website: http://www.vgm-motors.it/ . I am not quite sure if you can really order the car and if someone are built. The website has still an car configurator. Is it only a concept car or has the new P538 LeMans 2007 a real chance to be built? It looks so amazing like all Bizzarrini. I think that the P538 must become a engine in the middle of the car, like the V10 Lamborghini or V8 Corvette.
Yes, I believe that instead making old new car, they should make new P538 with Viper Engine or even new GT 40 engine Photos = BO 202 Image Unavailable, Please Login
