didnt the launch of the 360cs signal the end of the 360 model? so with the F430 scud out, do you guys think the F430 is gona be around for long? i heard the replacment model will be out end of 2008!! is this true??
"W" going to give it a Presidential pardon in exchange for getting Cheney a slot on the Enzo replacement list? I'm still waiting for someone, anyone, to provide anything more than rumors like, "my dealer told me so," or "I'm violating attorney-client privilege by disclosing this which could get me fired and my employer sanctioned or disbarred, but they will get a extension....."
Much bigger than that. It was discussed at the latest Bilderberg conference and they gave it the nod as part of the "New World Order."
Hello my dealer who is travelling almost every month to italy said 2010 maybe 2011. As ferrari will have a new car looking like 599 front engine v8(he said he saw it several times) so ferrari first launch that model then launch new f4xx anyway we waiting for 2009 frankfurt moto show for new f4xx but because enzo replacement it may be delayed one year(2009 is the super car year)
.......for those who care about facts: "Ferrari stated that it has been able to bring the F430 into compliance with all of the high-speed belted and unbelted crash test requirements of the Advanced Air Bag rule. However, it stated that it has not been able to bring the vehicle into compliance with the child out-of-position requirements (S19, S21, and S23), and the 5th percentile adult female out-of-position requirements for the driver seat (S25)." Here is Ferrari applying for the exemption (see Federal Register PDF links at the bottom of the page): http://dms.dot.gov/search/document.cfm?documentid=374331&docketid=23093 Here is the full Ferrari petition (see PDF links at the bottom of the page with embedded Ferrari documents): http://dms.dot.gov/search/document.cfm?documentid=381662&docketid=23093 Here is the link to the exemption in the Federal Register: http://frwebgate1.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate.cgi?WAISdocID=404817488176+0+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve And for those of you who care about facts, as appose to propagating BS rumors, there is no similar official filing for an extension to this petition....
Who is your dealer? It is clear, based on these uncontroverted facts, that 08 will be the final year despite the anecdotes or unsubtantiated proclamations.
No new filings have been made and the last petition took more than 6 months......keep in mind that the Ferrari filings via legal counsel equate to sworn testimony to a Federal Regulatory Agency. So did they lie when they stated that they, "intend to replace the F430 with a newly design 8-cylinder model after 2008?" Where is DrStrangelove when we need a BS card?
my dealer is a european dealer(sorry i cant give name in here). also you are mixing everything new v8 coming is FRONT engine so you cant mix f4xx with that car. Second thing is you cant change a car in 3 years ferrari changes every 5 year.
The issue is settled! If you say so, it must be true! Those documents filed with the U.S. Government, and the representations made to to the U.S., "dont' mean sh*t"! P.S. I'm not trying to bust your balls but tell us why the documents are "old"? In other words, where are the new documents because your assertion suggests new documents have been filed, or are going to be filed.
It is actually a "Temporary Exemption". ACTION: Grant of Application for a Temporary Exemption from S14.2 of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, Occupant Crash Protection. I also doubt Ferrari will import anymore after 2008 as some suggest. Why? Challenge and expense of necessary modifications. Best
Have your dealer read the Federal Register.. Until- unless there is a readdressing of the Fed Register exemption Time Limit ---- all of this is conversation. Best
You sound quite confident......I believe you......I too am confident Ferrari will extend the production of the F430 till end of 2009, just a hunch .
The 430 represents 85% of cars sold in US and an estimated $53MM US in net profit.(according to the petition) The exemption is limited to a total of 2,000 cars for '07 and '08 or 1,000 cars a year. If you work it back that means there are a total of approximately 1,200 cars shipped to the US a year. The replacement will not be out until '10.(our Euro friends have confirmed this numerous times) F currently has their plate full with the possible intro of the California GT and 430S(for sure) for next year and whatever they intend to do with the 599(retractable roof?) plus a possible Enzo replacement? There is no way they have the resources nor do they need to push the 430 replacement ahead for an '09 US launch. So, do you think that they intend to not have anything for the US and lose out on $53MM plus in net revenue because of no 430 for the remainder of '08 and '09?(assuming they don't fill that gap with the California GT) There's no way. P.S. - I'm confirming the latest with my inside sources on the exemption extension
Scott, I read that the 09 was going to have an updated engine with Direct Injection and a faster F1 Gearbox, it didn't say anything about US or Rest of the World Cars.
