You ever watch sports and when someone commits a penialitly? the ref throws a flag out there, thats basicly the same thing.

Glad to see things are slowly getting back normal.

The thing about these forums is that anonymity leaves the door open for a bunch of fools (mostly, but not exclusively teenagers) to post rubbish as though they are someone they are not. I've encountered a few of these on other forums and eventually everyone gets the ****s and they either get the hint and leave, or they get removed. (both of those statements were hints).

I was so intrigued by the phenomenon that I once started another handle (on another forum mind you) as though I was a redneck and started talking crap about putting diesel truck engines into exotic cars etc etc. I was having a ball of a time, I even used a load of "I know this guy..... I have seen..... I have heard" peppered amongst my posts where I was proclaiming to know everything about everything, and using my "wealth of experience" and my access to google and youtube to "lern some of the folk there how ya'll git yer cars to go fast on the 1/4"..... and they still didnt catch on.

I had intelligent people arguing with me over COMPLETE rubbish..... eventually I got bored and left.

I'd like to think that Pantera was also a baiter, but with the two quotes below, I doubt it very much. I think we have the real thing here.

In my humble opinion, I think what we have found in Pantera is THE crappiest replica here..... in fact, its a Crappy Pantera Replica!

If a guy showed up in a crappy replica at one of your Ferrari meets, no matter how much bull**** came out of the guy's mouth, you guys would laugh him out of the park. You would not debate with him the virtues of his crappy replica vs your genuine... yet here in the virtual world, this guy pulls up with a replica of real experience and you guys take the bait and run with it.

    LOL +1.

I still say that he's a baiter though. In fact I'd say he was a master at it.

I once saw an Opel GT that a guy had put a diesel tractor engine under the hood. He had to cut away most of the transmission tunnel to fit the entire contraption. There were multiple levers sticking out of the tractor transmission. It must have been a nightmare to drive. The guy was a diesel fanatic. He owned several smoke belching diesel Mercedes. Poor Opel GT.

This thread was always meant 100% for amusement anyway, but I particularly like the turn Crafty has taken it.

I liked your hint, please send him a book called "Reading for Dummies" and he might even learn from it :)

Now when I was a boy and had little money I liked the idea of kit cars even though I really wanted a Ferrari or Lambo but my all time favourite sound was the Yankee V8 in the movie McQ with John Wayne (Trans Am I think it was, haven't seen the movie in over 20 years) so it's not that I hate US V8 cars it's just that for a country that leads the world in so many things the rubbish they dish up to you guys is pathetic when there are so many good engine designs like Toyota or Honda make for the mass produced market and with high gas pries heading your way it will soon be time to adapt to making efficient engines (without resorting to tall gearing and rigging the town/country cycle figures) or leave the market to Toyota, Honda, etc (already happening from what I can see)

I am getting a proper track car because even a formula ford is far quicker than even the top of the line Ferraris and the FF is already correctly prepared for the track and trying to turn a kitcar or Ferrari into a decent track weapon is silly and a waste of money.

I like replicars if it is something like a copy of a P3/4 or a Cobra (Robnell version is the best) or GT40, wouldn't own one because as Aircon said I'd be embarrassed to be seen in it but for the right person they are a lot of fun.

What I don't get is why people do this :

Still think that Ferrari and Yank should not be compared.... BUT...In my humble opinion the reason Yank V8's sound crap is twin pipes, especially without a crossover. I fixed that on mine with a 2-into-1........ if the sound in McQ gave you a woodie, you'd better get the Kleenex before listening to this>>>>

Personally.... I liked the "how lame" post.... even though you didnt like the last bit of my post I was kinda hoping by the fact that you'd used 2 words that you'd got the message from the first bit.

It would be really nice if you could stick to 2 word answers.

you mean like "good bye" or "I'm gone" ??? :D

you know I had a long talk to the guy that did that TR replica and said to him that the workmanship was brilliant and why did he waste so much time and effort on it and all he could come up with was "why not ?" ..... heh, ok to each there own but if I was that good I would have made my own design, he really was very good and a lateral thinker
