Batman...I loved that show! But it ain't local, I don't think. Was the Banana Splits local only? I doubt that the Seals & Crofts show was either (liked it a lot).

Love Top Dog in Berkeley(Fat Slice/Blondie's Pizza!). I remember the two-hour waits for dinner at Spenger's (my parents loved that place).

How about the Campanile clock tower UC Berkeley that has been an icon since 1914? The Mormon Temple in Oakland. Golden Gate. Ferry Building SF. Palace of Fine Arts SF (field trips to the Exploratorium!!!) Lawrence Hall of Science, Berkeley. The bunkers at the Marin Headlands. Fort Point under the GG Bridge....

I miss Spangers in Berkeley when all the waiters were old men and the prices were inexpensive for a good meal.....Then McCormack & Schmicks took it over. Sad day :( They hired stupid college kids and jacked everything up.

I remember that show! I think it was right after Romper Room with Miss Nancy (Who I thought was a hottie!). I always got pissed because she never said "And I see Peter...........". Remember 'Do Bee and Don't Bee'?

Who remembers when the 280 connector overpass to 101 was left unfinished for several years? I believe it was on a cover of a rock band, but can't remember the name of the alblum.

    I remember that overpass.

Talk of restaurants reminds me of a waiter named Edsel Ford Fong at Sam Wo's in San Francisco (did I get those names right? -- I know I'm close). Mr. Fong came across as extremely rude, but somehow everybody found him to be a lovable chap.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but before Santana Row existed it was the Town & Country (IIRC) and there was this GREAT dimsum place. I was also there to witness San Jose's biggest fire...one of the Santana Row's first buildings. :) Felt the heat from that fire about 100ft away.

I remember the fire. Met one of the foremen on the job as I was on a flight.
    Holy fires batman! LOL

Lambchop with Sahri Lewis and Romper Room, wow

My algebra teacher in HS was Ms. Rogers, the daughter of Mr. Rogers. He was a veteran from WW2 and had a lot of tats on his arms. That's why he wore those sweaters all the time. Heard that he was a one of the best on his team and not sure if he was a sniper. Def. a commemerative war veteran to remember.

When I was 10 through 14, I worked at Stevens Music in the Portal Plaza. When the pool room closed, it became Azuma Restaurat (1972 I believe) and is still there. The manager of the music store I worked at and I were their first customers! I would never eat there again, as half of my fun at the mudic store was killing cockroaches, which that entire strip building was infested with (And probably still is!).

Next door was Stan's bicycles, the barber shop and PW Super.

Gung Lum Chinese restaurant on S.Bascom and Andy's BBQ on Campbell Ave. Andy's had the divey appeal and the best ribs on earth. Too bad they lost their lease and had to take over the Mr. Steer restaurant on the El Camino....Just not the same.

Not sure if someone already mentioned it - but my first recollection visiting the bay area (a long time ago) was seeing the radar up on top of Mt Umanum

Goldar & Silvar!!! hahaha Hilarious. Romper Room. I remember those shows. I also liked Thundaar the Barbarian ( "Ariel, Ookla...ride!") And the WonderTwins on Superfriends...I never understood why one of them turned into a giant purple ape and the other was a bucket of ice! Gleek!!! Do you remember the Brady Bunch Hawaiian Vacation Special? I had nightmares about that little wooden idol.

It was there when I was a kid. I have never been up there, but that building has to be HUGE that that radar sat on. I Googled for pic's and could not find any. I remember sitting on my backyard swingset in Cupertino when I was 5-8 years old, watching the Orion P-3's on final into Moffet Field. Seemed to be one every ten minutes landing (There were the sub chaser planes that patrolled the coastline).
