Found this at Lotusbuzz. http://www.lotusdriversguide.com/Genealogy/concept.php Personally, I don't like it as much as the "concept" images in Road and Track and elsewhere. Looks like a 348 to me.
There has been plenty of denial this is even a Lotus let alone the next Esprit. No facts that this is the next Esprit.
Those first set of pics with all the zebra striping looks like another lambo. The concept drawing a way down though with the orange colored one looks a lot nicer IMO. Looks like the engine will be a V8 around 400ponies or the SLR MB engine with 626HP. I dont' care for either, simply due to the fact that its' too Lambo'esk.
It looks more "Noble like" than it does a Lambo. Look at the headlamps and tailights, those are Noble.
although the old Supras could handle 1200 hp, which isn't bad at all maybe Toyota can install a 4.5 L v8 hybrid out of the Lexus, that would be cool
When I saw the first picture, the frist thing that came to mind was a Diablo. Kind of OT here, but does anyone know anything about the company that owns Lotus, Proton? Are they a publicly traded company? If so what exchange?
Its not the new lotus esprit its actually a car that belongs to Spectre Cars which is a low volume car company. More info here http://www.leftlanenews.com/mystery-lotus-not-a-lotus-at-all.html
Cammo so the exact lines and tack on decoy parts blend. Works very well here. Very hard to see the shape. I do like the side inlets starting at the top of the rear corner of the side window all the way down to the rocker panel. Lotus needs to step up in the drive train department, A 400 hp Toyota V-8 wont cut it in todays Supercar market. Lets see some stupid crazy numbers please.
Nice find a7. Problem is; I aint buyin it ! Why would Spectre go to all the trouble to cammo a low production car and then have Lotus paint it. Too many holes in this story. The one off car companies go out of their way to get press not stifle and camouflage it. Spectre indeed. Are they building a car to compete with James Bonds Aston ?
