Body Worlds 2 is in San Jose and I have inerest in seeing it. First off, I wave a pretty weak stomach. Just seeing if anyone has seen this exhibition and may tell me what to expect. It DOES look fascinating!

From what I've observed, people who have weak stomachs have VERY weak stomachs when it comes to examining graphic images of the human body.

Went to both when they were in Chicago. I have a weak stomach but found it too fascinating to be bothered by it.

Interesting. I haven't heard of Body Worlds.

I went to BODIES: The Exhibition, in San Diego. I was enthralled by it. Very moving, even when you know exactly what the body functions are. When you see it in person, it is simply amazing. Such as the entire nervous system still attached together, but separate from all other body parts. It looks like thousands of strands in the shape of the human body.

I don't have a weak stomach for seeing stuff like this, unless it's a very graphic surgical procedure.

The one that I encourage EVERYONE to see, regardless of your stance of abortion, is the child development stages. There are stillborn fetuses in containers. It sounds dehumanizing and graphic, but I promise you it only brings awareness.

I also highly suggest everyone sees the exhibit in its entirety, reading every tidbit of information. I would love to see this exhibit again.

For what its worth, the last room of BODIES had an entire body of just skin. So they basically skinned a human. This was, to me, the grossest I encountered. However, even then, I was more entralled than nautious.

One last note, the end of BODIES had a a liver and brain you can touch. It felt like rubber because of the preservation methods. Believe me, everything is preserved like this and it almost looks surreal because of how it is preserved. If you go in thinking that there is a rubberish coating over the body parts, then you shouldn't be timid.

If you go into the exhibit with a very scientific mindset (remember how much effort it must have taken to properly remove and preserve these parts), then I foresee you will not have any problems with a weak stomach.

I've been to the original in Europe and that #2 exhibit when it was in Boston last fall. I think everyone should see it - you'll learn more about how the body actually looks (inside) and works in an hour than years of seeing it in science textbooks.

If you go to the website you will see samples of the human body exhibits that they have. There are also displays of organs for each of the major systems. For example, they have a display case of real lungs: healthy, smoker, cancerous, etc. The "plastination" process keeps them in their colors and form, so it looks infinitely better than organs in formaldehyde.

I was really interested in going to the exhibit while it was here, but I heard that it was absolutely nauseating and the odor was very offensive.

I went to the original exhibit when it was in LA. I left because I felt like throwing up. Seeing eyelashes and stuff like that creeped me out. I didn't mind seeing organs and parts, but seeing entire bodies of real people was a different story.

    1 through 10...........uuuuuhhhrrrrrgggg......I don't know.......... mchas +1

Tell ya why I'm a 'you know what' (Starts with a 'P') when it comes to stuff like this:

When I was 12 years old, I saw a head-on from about 30 feet. I witnessed a lady go through her windshield into the oncoming car. It was beyond gross and VERY disturbing. From that day on, I could never even clean a fish, I get grossed out when people blow their nose at the dinner table (Will just about puke [and you should see the look I give people in restaurants that do that near me]) and had a REAL hard time looking at my scar when my foot was cut open after surgery. The head-on did it for me. So call me what you want, that's just me. I'm REALLY interested in seeing this exhibit, but not sure I would be able to get through it all.

I was thinking about that. Maybe drinks BEFORE would be better. At least more humor for me if he were to puke...

I've always been fascinated by science, and this exhibit was something I wanted to see for years. Now it's in San Diego. But I lost my dad 5 months ago, and emotionally/mentally I am not ready. I keep seeing the ad's. By the time I'm ready to see it, it'll probably be gone. Oh well.

I just saw on tv that this exhibit is still in town. It's not exactly the same one, but the same concept. I may try to go tomorrow and I'll let you know if I make it out without feeling ill. :)

Casino Royal (new 007 flick) has a scene, where Bond shanks some dude (of course after porking his wife) during this exhibition. Go watch it and you will get a quick glimpse at how the bodies are displayed.
