    Oh BOY do they get on my nerves. I recently stopped at a grocery store to get some dried fruit. I found the cranberries and raisins I wanted, but the pre-packaged section didn't have any Dates. I went to the produce section and didn't see any, so I asked the guy who works there. He was really young. He looked at me funny and said he'd ask a coworker. This guy was also really young. These morons thought I was playing some kind of joke on them. They didn't know there was a fruit called a "date". :rolleyes:

    I was telling my mom this story and she had one of her own. She had gone to a crafts store to buy some acetate. She asked an employee and got a dumb look. "What?". So she said "Acetate" again. The guy says "Ass tape??!!" Ugh. Like my dad used to say; "If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys".

    BTW I was buying dried fruit to recreate some of the "prison brew" I made while in Afghanistan. I used apple juice from the chow hall and added sugar, raisins, and cranberries from our MREs, along with some bread yeast. It wasn't bad. It got lots better when I got some spices from the chow hall and proper brewing yeast.

    I know what you mean about grocery shopping. Around here the freshest items in the stores is bait.

    I'll take ignorance over laziness or bad attitudes from employees anyday!

    I have to admit... it's kind of humorous to walk up to someone and ask if they have dates. LOL

    Anway, fresh dates are hard to find!!! They are supposedly very healthy for you, yet nobody carries them... only the dried kind (which is not as healthy).

    I agree with you on stupid employees, but when I worked as a cashier during college, you should have seen how stupid the customers are! Not all are ignorant, but probably ~50%. Something they would almost always do is walk past an open checkstand and go to one where there is already a line of 2-3 people... There were absolutely countless times where I had to call people over to mine. Another classic is when they asked if I'm open when I'm standing in checkstand with my light on! Of course I'm open, why do you think I'm standing in a checkstand with a light on! Those are just a couple examples, but believe me when I say there are countless others!

    The only reasonable conclusion is that there are a lot of stupid people out there. I like George Carlin's theory that 50% of people have below average intelligence while the other 50% have above average intelligence... :)

    Customers aren't always right!
