    A spectacular race!

Wow... the Italian broadcast was updating a "Virtual WDC Count" almost every lap... There were so many combinations and 'predicted results' changing lap after lap that is almost became a farce...
Our commentators are known to be excited but one of them actually lost their voice around the 60th lap... he was yelling something about "LEE-WHO-IS" and then just a squeak... Nobody said anything... but for the remaining laps only the second commentator was talking...
    : )

    best,
    M

...and may the Horse be with you.

By the way, GREAT respect for Nakajimas mechanics. He mows them down, they stand up, change tires and get carried out. If that joker had done that to me, I'd have been jumping around the garage on one leg shouting ungodly things. Chapeau.

as i said Florian i dont take them seriously - but i do wonder how a professional team can mess up so thoroughly in two successive races.
what i cant do is blame LH - yeah he cocked up the start today, but that was his only mistake in the last 2 races really - everything else was down to the team not driver.

maybe the choke diagram is apt and should be sent to the MCL hq - LOL

    HOLY ****! what a season!

To come from all that bs with the cheating and spying and blah blah blah and then to win the title outright on both counts had McLaren not even been stripped of it's points. I think it turned out perfectly for Ferrari fans!!!! Great to see Kimi get his championship! FORZA FERRARI!

Nick it was 50:50 in China IMO. Today not sure..odd though he slammed on at the 1st turn to stop going into a ferrari FA passed him and it rattled him then god knows what happened to the car strange though.. I personally don't like conspiracy stuff but maybe I just like to see the good in people sure it happens though..

Kimi won the first race this season and he won the last.

He's to you, buddy. Enjoy the WDC.

Thanks to the team and especially Phil. A true team player.

It doesn't get better than this except it would have been nice if Phil could have #2 on his car next year.

The number "1" will be on a Ferrari. Life as it should be. ;)

china is an odd one - he must have known his tyres were screwed, though he probably couldnt see they were delaminating (too much spray/water etc to see much in mirrors)
the team would have known though (all the commentators and tv viewers certainly did) so why did they leave him out.
he did come into the pitlane too quickly (as did KR) but then he was unsighted till the end of the straight having been overtaken (which was an odd move in itself) by the guy he had just lapped. but for me the real mystery is why the team didnt call him in earlier

    today though is even odder.
yes he messed up the 1st lap - but that in the long run wouldnt have mattered.
what happend to the car for those 40 secs is bizarre - but intermittent problems do occur.
however afaik he was the only driver to make 3 stops.
why on the 2nd stop didnt they fuel him to the end like they did for FA and like every other team did for their drivers - but for that he would have been 20+ secs up and in 4th or 5th place.

He will, I think... IIRC, 1+2 go to the team with the WDC, the rest will be in the WCC order. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I think he can be blamed for China, too, at least in parts. He was much too fast on that lane into the pits, and anyway, if the driver feels his tires are disintegrating in a way he won't survive the next lap, he comes in, no matter what the team says... but let's better celebrate todays victory than discuss the mistakes of the past! :)

Because he then had to drive on the soft tires until the end. Did you see how slow he was on those 15 laps? He struggled to overtake Vettel. Also his risk of crashing with the tires causing the car's driveability to decrease a considerable amount was surely much higher, so MCL didn't take chances.

Doesn't he get #2? They have the WDC and WCC, and if nobody leaves, they keep them, correct?

Yes strange call with the pit stop agreed. We will get flamed to death if we carry on with this train of thought though.;)

He is an amazing force to be reckoned with in the future of that I'am sure :)

i was gonna drop the subject as steve suggested but before i do there is one correction to make.

    this isnt true.
he had done his soft tyre stint and was back on the normal tyres
the only reason for the 3rd stop was that the team for some reason didnt fuel him to the end on the 2nd stop.

as pointed out this also happend to Trulli (which id forgotten)

I think we have a misunderstanding on the WCC title. Ferrari would finish with 204 points (110 for Kimi, 94 for Felipe) while McLaren would finish with 218 (109 each for Alonso and Hamilton).

Ferrari would not win the WCC title outright.

Point taken - yes, you're right.... strange decision.

We talked about that before, MCL would have lost the 15 points from Hungary

the misunderstanding here is that in Hungary the MCL team lost 15 points due to what happened in Q3.
they could have appealed this - but a week or so later lost all the seasons point so didnt bother as it was pointless (pun intended - LOL)

basically this means that they could have finished the season with either 203 or 218 - depending on appeals etc.

    Congratulations Kimi!!
    Congratulations FERRARI!!

What a wicked race that was!

My heart was on full pace the whole race! Especially watching those last few laps, with the rosberg/kubica/heidfeld battle.. was a nailbiter!

    YEEEEESSSSSS KIMI!!

I have to say I was a nervous wreck watching the race, could barely sit down! There were so many chances for either LH or the rat Alonso to somehow come back and perhaps for an anvil to fall out of the sky and land on Kimi's car, etc, but he MADE it this time! Gives me such a huge boost to see the season end like this, couldn't have been better, what a fascinating season!
