BTW - I think the fixation with LH both within and out of McL lost them the DC.
In that sense Alonso's very serene smile is an exc. finale to a nasty situation.

If Kimi only smiles once a year after he wins the WDC for Ferrari, it is OK with me.

    Keep smiling. :)

    AHAHAHAAHAHAHAA!!!

Just came back from watching the race (with a McMerc fan!!!! :D). What can I say? I'm sure you all feel the same - this was just a miracle, we COULDN'T have hoped for more. This was the miracle that didn't happen last year with MS... truly unbelievable!!

Lord, I was sure one of those guys was gonna tank it and move Hamilton up a place...

I had made plans to drown my sorrows and think to '09 starting somewhere mid race, but instead I was on the edge of my seat until they had all crossed the line. Awesome race, truly awesome!!!!

    FORZA FERRARI!!!!!!!

Exactly! Hobbs & Varsha were congratulating Kimi right after he crossed the line. With that cue, my 10-yr old son immediately started the "Kimi celebration dance", but I had to stop him, thinking that Kimi's cloud of bad luck was yet to strike! I didn't exhale until that pack of 3 crossed the line.

All those years of mechanical failures and otherwise incredibly bad luck, Kimi finally pulls it off at SF. It is a good day indeed.

    Congrats Kimi!

Kimi wins the driver's crown, and Ferrari wins everything 204 to 203 (or 0)! Congrats to Scuderia Ferrari! Amazing!

Ferrari wins both Championships, Alonso, Lewis, and the cheating team gets nothing, and Felipe Massa proves he could have won again! What an amazing day and amazing year! What else can you ask for? I'm only sorry that Schumacher wasn't a part of it this year.

    Forza Ferrari.

I have to say that I was very impressed by Massa today, he handled the race with incredible speed and the fact that he could not win his home race and showed the humility that he did was amazing.

Its easy to tell what would have happened! If McCheater had not gained the knowledge of the Ferrari braking system alone they would never have come close to winning the races they did and Ferrari would have wrapped up the season a few races ago. Thats what would have happened!

Wow! What a finish to a season. A big congrats to Kimi, Scuderia Ferrari and all of the Ferrari supports here on fchat!!

I loved seeing Kimi smile both on the podium and during the interviews. I also loved it when Kimi patted Massa on the back when Massa said he would have liked to win but was happy with Kimi winning the championship. I was shocked when Kimi said they were taking it easy on the tires, but they could have gone much faster if needed! Wow!

If I had the time and desire, I would go back through all the posts early in the season and see how many people here celebrating were calling for Kimi to be fired from Ferrari at the beginning of the season.

As I recall, only Andreas and myself were predicting Kimi would win the WDC back then. I am glad to see our faith vindicated. Welcome aboard the bandwagon, all you fair-weather fans.

Kimi won because of team effort. He didnt really win by himself.

I hope it sticks because it is a great victory. Ferrari did a great job to win and I hope it doesn't get reversed.

exactly, if not for Massa he would have nothing AND I was one of those calling for Kimi's head because he lost focus, and even Andreas was not happy with him at one stage , still don't rate Kimi as highly as Schumi but then who is ?

So even if McLaren were not penalized, Ferrari would have still won the Constructors championship.

yes - if you allow for the 15 points MCL lost in Hungary
no - if they had appealed the above (which wasnt worth doing after they lost the all their points)
