They can't use that argument, Fernando finished ahead of the BMW's. You need to put back your old sig too.
Funny you say that just going bed clocked this post wish I HAD'NT.. The other worry for me is that the Mc drivers kept there points for info ? yes Not the case here!! Don't get me wrong but I was sorry to see Lewis lose ,at the same time very happy to see kimi win. But I would not be happy to see Lewis given the title in a farce like this..I will be gob smacked if he does it would make the whole season just the biggest swindle of F1 history in a long time..
There is hope. I foresee another major FIA meeting in Paris with representatives from Williams, BMW, Ferrari, McLaren, Shell and Mobil1 coming together having a debate over whether fuel temperatures cause a performance gain or are just a minor anomaly. I think we won't know the 2007 Champion for another week or so. Darn, I can't help but think about the 2 points lost in Turkey. Sorry Massa, but that victory would have now been tremendously helpful. Not Massa's fault of course, but Todt's lack of foresight.
I keep telling everyone that LH is not to blame about all the crap; it's RD, LH's father, Bernie and Max....but no one wants to listen! I wouldn't be surprised IN THE LEAST if LH is crowned WDC. RD, Bernie and Max are scumbags!!!! As to money, it would be more profitable in the long run for the a-holes to give LH the crown, and draw in more "black" viewership...
Colder, denser fuel can ABSOLUTELY give a performance gain both horsepower wise, and by packing more fuel into the tank by making it colder, increase the distance one can drive on a tank.
Simple fine the team, leave them be. its not like its a hard thing to do they already did it for FA and LH once this year, and they also did it for LH this weekend with using 2 sets of tires. Seems like someone wants LH to win... as another note to sum up the year "FIA micromanaging"
special case - they offered immunity before the hearing if the drivers told all they knew. that sounds about right all comes down to if the stewards DQ or if another solution is reached.
This fuel would be for this race only. The McLaren team used their "cheat" for the whole season, that's why all of their Constructors points were taken away. I believe they kept the drivers points intact {wrongly} to keep a fight for the championship alive. Perhaps also because of some bias towards Lewis. I doubt there will be any {successful} appeal by Ferrari when this business is over, it simply doesn't concern them. As I wrote before, I fully believe that all points Drivers and Constructors alike will be stripped if these cars are found to be in violation of these specific rules, however distasteful it may be to the fans.
i. that statement means they do change something (double negative) ii. Alesi was a driver not engineer.
What about the FIA/Ferrari/Japan GP debacle-Kimi would have finished second there-and possibly beaten LH....
Bah, if the roles were reversed and Kimi had the chance to win based on the teams disqualifications, you guys would all be singing the praises of the FIA.
update, fuel was outside the regs as mesured during the stops. From Autosport. The FIA has confirmed that the fuel temperatures of the BMW Sauber and Williams cars were outside the regulations during the course of the Brazilian Grand Prix. As the race stewards continue to investigate the matter to decide on whether or not a punishment is necessary, a statement issued by technical delegate Jo Bauer revealed the extent of the temperature variation of the cars involved. Article 6.5.5 of the Formula One technical regulations states: "No fuel on board the car may be more than ten degrees centigrade below ambient temperature." The statement issued by Bauer showed that Heidfeld's fuel was 13 degrees centigrade lower than ambient at his first stop and 12 degrees centigrade lower at his second stop. Robert Kubica's fuel varied by 14 degrees, 13 degrees and 13 degrees at his three stops; Nico Rosberg's fuel was 13 degrees and 12 degrees out at his two stops and Kazuki Nakajima's was 12 degrees out at his first stop. His second stop was inside the 10-degree limit. Spyker technical chief Mike Gascoyne said he believed the variation would have provided a performance advantage. "It can be five to ten horsepower easily," he told autosport.com. "The car is producing a performance advantage during the race. If they dump fuel in that is below the limit, it is an illegal performance advantage. They should be excluded from the event, there is absolutely no doubt." The implications of a disqualification for the BMW and Williams drivers would be huge, as it could potentially move Lewis Hamilton up the order into fourth place. In such a case, Hamilton would be crowned the world championship.
although there are definitely advantages, you should also highlight the fact that advantage is minimal. I think the improvement was under 1% in power. There again, 1% in F1 can make a difference.
This case is different, it's much more focused and routine, no driver will be interviewed here, I just can't imagine that happening. This isn't a negotiation, the penalties are all ready in place, besides these two teams fight for themselves, Ferrari and their position doesn't factor into the penalty.
The FIA would be fire bombed!!! They had best not dream of punishing the drivers, but rather the teams.
Interesting for a Brit like Gascoyne to want those teams excluded from this race. Regardless, the penalty should be towards the Constructors and they should leave the WDC alone.
