An amazing day in every respect . . . so many people to thank: Alfonso for conceiving the event, obtaining permission from the Golden Gate authorities, securing CHP escorts, and making arrangements for our lunch at Gaspare's. CHP for escorting us to the GGB and managing traffic so we had the bridge to ourselves. Thank you so much for your patience and help. We could not have enjoyed this special treat otherwise. Ben & Co for shooting us from the plane and supporting the ground crew with that "special" truck. We can't wait to see your photos. Sean, Katie & Alex for tirelessly running around from location to location to capture us on video and camera. We are eager to see your great work. Gaspare's Pizzeria & Ristorante in San Rafael for reserving your entire parking lot for us. The food and service was fabulous and we will definitely be back. Thanks to all who came out- great seeing everyone! Here are a few pics to get us started. Hopefully others will better capture the many spectacular sights of this day: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
An Awesome Day!!! Great to see everyone again and hear their cars as well!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here are some photos. It was an awesome sight seeing the Ferrari's and Lambo's crossing the bridge. Unfortunately it happened so fast that it was over in about 30 seconds and the lighting was such that I couldn't bring out the color on the bridge. Wow, amazing shots, what a sight. Too Cool! I need to go on one of these drives someday. My cousin lives in the city, did a silver GT3 RS happen to join in the drive? By the way, what is the owner's name of the silver CGT, think I might know him? Just curious Nice Shots, beautifull cars, thanks for sharing!
Alfonso and Ben, again thanks for all the hard work you guys put into planning this. John - my pics look exactly the same on the bridge, the sun could not have been in at a worse angle =\ How are you liking that lens? Pics soon.
Wow that looks like it was a blast! If you guys decide to do another one of these drives I would love a heads up, as I have a new lens I'd like to try out! I wonder how long the people who were walking on the bridge had their ears ringing for...
WOW!!! What a great day!!! Thank you, Lyndon, Alfonso, Sean, Alex, and the rest of the gang for putting on this class act event. I know it a lot of work and favors to pull this off. I had a great time driving with you guys & gals. The trip down from Sacramento was well worth it. I enjoyed seeing good friends and always look forward to meeting new ones. The restaurant was great to reserve the parking lot for all of us. What an ending to a great event with great food. More pictures please as I left my camera at home during the morning rush to get down to the city. I cant wait to see the videos and listen to the tunnel blast soundtrack of all the different cars and exhaust systems. I cant wait until the next run. Ray
Was there a post earlier that this was going to happen? The first I'd heard of it was three minutes ago, when I just saw the pics. Please tell me this'll be an annual event... Orrie
I am sooooo jealous! Sorry that I missed the launch event. I was out on a previously committed drive in Sonoma for 120+ miles with some 40 other Ferraris.
I would have liked to get a good shot of everyones car, but it was difficult with time and locations...hopefully next time. If I didn't get a shot of your car for this event and I have one in my gallery you would like, I can make it available on digiproofs. prints here: www.digiproofs.com/alexdphotography password: alexdphotography a few of theM: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Prancing Horse, You are welcome! Thank you for setting up the Marin Milk Run after my role in the Golden Gate Bridge! I love the teamwork that took place from all involved. The drive and company were amazing -- an experience that will go down in our history books, as far as one of the most amazing events we experienced as exotic car enthusiasts! BTW, THANK YOU FOR TALKING TO THE CHP TOWARD THE END OF OUR RUN! I WAS ONE OF THE TOP FOUR IN THE GROUP! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso Bird Man, It was definitely great to see you and Mrs. Bird Man out on this event. Thanks for helping out and being part of the steering committee -- your assistance in the practice run was a major asset! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso Hey, SANguru. I'm glad you finally made it out to one of my events! How many invites did I send you in the past? ;-) I wish you could have stayed with us at Gaspare's -- the food and company were amazing! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso Hi, AutoXer. Yes, it went by so fast! Thanks for the pics, and it was great seeing you! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso AlexD, I chose you for this project because I love your work, and I connect with you -- you're a groovy and cool dude; so, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for always shooting us and making us look really cool! You always have a smile on your face, even though I know that I'm pushing you really hard to get the money shot! Great pictures! YOU ARE MY SHOOTER for all my events! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso Great seeing you GinRacer! Thanks for making the trip down from Sacramento -- that's a rough ride on a Saturday afternoon! See you at the next one! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso Thanks, AlexD. Nice shooting -- I realize the sun was a real challenge. I'm going to set up a de-briefing on this event to find out the stuff that worked and didn't work, so the next time I do an event like this, it will be better! Thanks, so much, for all the photo shots. Check 6. /s/ Alfonso SMN (Sean) & Katie: Thanks for the personal filming of us on this event -- I know it's a tough task -- we are all anxious to see your video clip. Artherd, Jeff, & Zak: I bet less than a handful of exotic car enthusiast can call upon aerial photography for a Saturday afternoon drive. Thank you, Art; and, please pass my appreciation to Jeff (pilot) and Zak for driving the white traffic truck. Check 6 and Clear Skies! /s/ Alfonso
Guys, what a great run! "You are blocking the road!" (CHP officer scolding us for parking on the shoulder who then proceeds, with the help of a Marin County SO, to actually block both lanes of the road... ) Lyndon; for getting 4+ of us out of a serious ticket! Zak; for explaining in detail exactly what laws we intended to break, and how we were going to go about it, to the 6 CHP officers, who then nodded in agreement. Also for driving the TC truck like a badass. Jeff; for use and pilot skills beyond compare in 35+ knot gusting updrafty clear turbulat air with moving passengers and an open window over difficult terrain with heavy traffic in the area. He makes it look easy. Alfonso; you ROCK! Sean, Katie, AlexD, the rest of the photog crew; for courage under fire! Tyce our insurance rep, for getting a policy together in truely RECORD time! Vijay: for being ever so sexy. And, without furthur ado, I present what I belive to be a world first; Aerial pictures of a ferrarichat run! EDIT: still playing with the color for JPEGs, for some reason adding the Kodak profile makes the files too big for fchat. Members check your e-mail for full res. Artherd, Amazing shots! Wow! Thanks, so much. Let's get together next week to do a de-briefing on this event. BIG +1 on that one regarding Lyndon and the CHP, as I was one of the top four. THANK YOU to Tyce Fields, my Farmer's Insurance Agent, for putting all the drivers in this event into my insurance policy for the day -- he did it on the 12th hour and had to create a $5 million General Liability auto policy for me, all the drivers, and CT -- without all the drivers being in my insurance policy, we would not have been able to carry out this event. This is definitely up there with Lyndon's talk to CHP toward the end of the Milk Run! Yes, Vijay is a sexy man -- especially, when he dances on the bar and does his pole dance at the 2am Club in Mill Valley -- go Vijay! Thanks to you, we have our first aerial F-Chat Milk Run over the GGB -- great job Artherd and Jeff! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso
Roger that Rockstar, this is Groupy signing off! PS: reload the aerials, I think I finally got ferrarichat to take a color profile.
Would have made a GREAT F-Chat podcast.... but I had no idea it was happening. let me know next time there is a gathering in Nor Cal. I could have had cameras in the air, on-board cars and on the side of the road (yep, I've got a few cameras )
Hey all - great to see everyone yesterday. What a great day! Here's a photo I snapped real quick from inside Bryan's car. It came out blurry, but it's still hilarious... See you guys next time~ -D Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ben - the aerial pics are awesome! Do you have any more? Wish I could have made it, but I had to work
"Hmmmm, somehow I don't think he's part of the escort . . ." Ben & Alex: I love those shots - incredible stuff! Thanks again. Here's a quick vid of the drive captured by Mrs. Prancing Horse: http://youtube.com/watch?v=10TI0sC7QTs
