Lewis isn't even the best driver on his team, HE COST HIMSELF THE CHAMPIONSHIP. He only needed to score 2 more points to win and instead takes himself out of both races by crashing and by going off on the first lap. Lewis looked very impressive until he became arrogant and snobbish. Good luck Hamilton, you will not even pass the Great Kimi Raikkonen in your career. Keep dreaming. Comparing him to Schumacher at this point is a disgrace to the Schumachers, Sennas, and Raikkonens of the world.

Kimi or Massa , maybe Alonso . Hamilton is great but still has a lot to prove , esp outside his Mclaren nest.

It may be just coincidental, but it seems fishy that the only three cars implicated in this situation happen to be the three cars that were in front of Hamilton in the latter stages of the race. Was the other Williams (Nakajima) also guilty? What about all the rest of the field?

I wonder if those three cars had been behind Hamilton instead of in front of him; would any of this have occurred in the first place.....

We already know that Schumi is not coming back. I agree with you that Lewis will do well next year, but it's pretty pre-mature to say that he will dominate.

No offense, but these grandiose terms to describe Kimi are as amusing as the bandwagon
that formed around LH - media gullibloons in the modern epoch for you, from one extreme
    to another with mad abandon.

Kimi won the DC because Massa helped him/gifted him some victories.
If the McL drivers worked as a team the outcome may have differed.
This is largely LH's/daddy's fault but nevertheless ...

As mentioned prev - Kimi had the most points and F were undeniably the best team.
This is cause for celebration but the dramatic images
of Great, invincible heroes are for good night stories.

    GOOD NIGHT!!!

When does the "Fat-Lady," finally get to sing?

This is becoming a Greek Tragedy for Ferrari, and everyone else involved!

Wake me, when this nightmare is over.

    Ciao...Paolo

I did the calculations, and it amounts to less than 10 hp difference at 15,000 Rpm for any of the cars involved.

That may be right, but I'm McLaren would say "What about at 19,000 RPM, the rev limit?." Also, it is more HP, and I hate to say it, but that is against the rules. Regardless of this, there seems to be a lot of confusion and uncertainty among the stewards that they have all the correct numbers upon which to judge the situation and ultimately make a decision.

Peak power is NOT at maximum legal revs, so that's why I chose 15,000 Rpm rather than 19,000 Obviously, I don't know exactly where peak power meets Rpm for the Toyota or BMW motors, as there is no way I would ever get access to their dyno charts...

Oh, jeez. This morning after the race I spent a little quality time with my boy and I actually thought to myself that all Lewis needed was to see both the BMWs disqualified for some infraction, like not having all the screw heads perfectly aligned to form parallel slots, and he'd get the points he needed to win the WDC. Alas, I laughed to myself and went about our stroll. SO, my wife and I take my mother-in-law to the airport and run some errands in the afternoon, and I come home to read about THIS CRAP! I cannot f'ing believe that Ron Dennis is going to appeal the findings after everything that has gone on this year. He and Lewis should just break out the Burt Bacharach records and go swivel, and let the sport and its fans enjoy the ending.

PLEASE quit blaming LH. He is just a puppet of RD, Bernie and Max and his father.

Nope. We still have to wait and see how the appeal turns out. :(

From the BBC link a couple of pages back:

"But the stewards had the power to disqualify them, even though the advantage conferred would have had no bearing on the title race.
The total advantage for each car over the race distance was almost certainly no more than a second. "

One freaking second for the whole race distance. I can gaurantee you the Int Court of Appeals will not even accept their appeal.

" The McLaren team has told the BBC it intends to appeal against the stewards' decision.
A spokesperson said the team was not trying to challenge Ferrari's victory in the race, but wanted to understand the reasoning behind the decision. "

Mclaren and their spokesman can go swivel.
Congratulations to the Iceman. Great teamwork from the whole team especially Massa. I hope Massa silenced most of his critics today.

    Cheers

no matter what happens at the appeal, Kimi and Ferrai are the genuine champs this season. period. Mac and both of it's drivers shoudn't even been in this year's championship.

but mark my words, Ron can appeal as much as he wants, the final results will stand as it is.

They dont have to even hear the appeal, but I think they might but considering McLarens cheating and lying this season and not wanting to show any unfairness! What a bunch of sore losers i was all prepared to cry but in my heart I new the red mist would prevail!

It doesn't look like Autosport has any updates on this. Does anyone know the latest on the appeal?
