    Hmmm.

You are WRONG to say that old cracked tires do not represent originality. Yes they do in fact. If I want to show my 275GTB/4 with old cracked XWXs which were originally shod on the car, I dont think that ANYONE judges included could conclude that that: Joe, your "old cracked tires do not represent oroginality" as youve stated. My retort would be: "Hell YES they do!".

My apologies to all those that enjoy this thread as a non-confrontational source of F40 pics and dialogue....my amusing, but altogether pointless exchange with Joseph has detracted from an excellent thread.

Back on topic...some old pics from Ault Park in 2006. The first pic is what concours is all about in my eyes....sharing the joy with young and old.

Too much thanks Jas.... you are the one showing a side of the interior/engine bay I wouldn't dare even try to pry open! Let alone.... who is ever going to see that at a car show?!?!!! And yes, I've never seen the 'front' of the engine :) Thankyou!

    Issac,
Great pics, as always. Speak with The Sultan, if you will, as to a family reunion for some photos. Now that would be kool. See any "new" F40's lurking about?

A while back I mentioned the fact that the stock prop rod on the F40 is notoriously flimsy. The risk of this rod collapsing and causing serious injury cannot be discounted. When the cars first came Stateside, Karosserie in King of Prussia Pa did some work on incoming F40's for FNA. During that time, they designed a prop rod that was much sturdier, and gave their mechanics much more confidence working under the rear bodywork !

They still make this prop rod to that original design, and even paint it Rosso Corsa to match the body. It arrived last week, and here are some pics. Note that the bottom end rests on the wastegate pipe. If you are interested in one, give Rick a call at Karosserie (610) 279-8925. They are very busy, but make it to order. http://www.karosserie.com/index.htm

    Dear Comrade Rough MD,

I agree that the support has always seemed terribly flimsy.

I have a welding machine and shall acquire a length of round bar and weld a piece onto it to fit over the wastegate pipe - voila!

I note that you still have the standard exhaust fitted - as do I.

What pray, is the other motor car in your garage?

    With kind regards,

    512 Tea Are

    Why yes!

This is a very beautiful 1991 F40 that came to Michigan recently :)

Lets see about that reunion, its a great excuse to go on a drive!

Mike, those are some down and dirty photos.... that is true car porn in my eyes ;) Awesome.

It is a 512 carburated boxer, 1979 model year. To save you some measuring time, the total rod length is 62 inches, and the U shaped end is 3 inches at its widest point.

Jas, is the "little' F40 stationary or motorized? I've seen several different types and I'm wondering which type you have?

EDIT: Oops, I'm stupid! That's an Enzo, not an F40! :)
