blue sky is gone....
Hey Jon, my parents were evacuated from the Bridges also, they said they saw flames up on Cieo. My fingers are crossed! Good luck to everyone!
We're still okay in the Penasquitos Canyon area; if the wind shifts South and fire hits the canyon things are going to get exciting real fast. My thoughts are with those that are being impacted by the fires - stay safe! If I need to evac do I save the F-car and risk getting caught in a traffic jam, or take the SUV and have the option of an off-road shortcut??? This was NOT addressed in my emergency preparedness kit!
Simple. Offroad the FERRARI if need be. You can't leave the F-car behind unless you're actually in physical danger. Good luck everyone.
Anybody know the best place for news right now? Ive been checking the blog on signonsandiego.com but it doesn't tell exactly what the fires are doing.
www.cbs8.com seems to have a list of homes and streets that have burned, only in the Rancho Bernardo area. Unfortunately, being in northern California I can only watch the occasional local news covering it or national news. I've also looked at www.10news.com as well as pictures posted on www.******.com (that photo website that starts with an F).
Thanks, that CBS8 seems have to have the most updated and better organized info than any other news site.
Not ALL of it, but it's scary right now..... Here is an overhead picture of my parents place. I am HOPING the the golf course and other houses will protect it from any surrounding fires, I don't think there is enough fuel around the house to catch fire. Lots of buffer, but still, there are trees there. STILL, VERY NERVOUS RIGHT NOW! and it's frustrating becuase it's very difficult to get any updated info on our area. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I use to live there I now live on the hill in la costa off Alga. just got back from helping my friend and got a call as I walked in asking for all cbad residents south of palomar airport rd to voluntarily evacuate my friend lives in olivenhein on the edge of RSF and on my way in there there was a huge exodus of classic, vintage and exotic cars. if those cars are a concerned get them out now while it is somewhat mellow just in case, although when I was leaving olivenhein I noticed all the cops were gone except 2 who were not letting anyone back into that area at all, no one going into RSF, it is complete grey smoke, ashes and the smell burns when you breathe in. And it is HOT! You can feel the fire although you can not see it.
Where? On that El Camino Del Norte road off Rancho Santa Fe Rd. ?? Do you know what's burning in there right now? Did you see flames or just smoke?
thats the exact road they had closed off, but on my way in they had cops everywhere directing traffic but they were all gone but those two, couldnt see any flames but it was getting hotter fast and hes just off (south) of rsf rd., ash was coming down and the smoke goes all the way to the beach as far as I could tell
My parents got a hotel down by Sea World and if things don't settle down they're coming to stay with me in Vegas.
My girlfriend works at the Albertson's on La Costa and El Camino and it is still open. I don't understand because on the news it says that area is evacuated.
