RSF, Crosby and Scrips Ranch is evacuated. Del Dios is closed at Hodges now
I really wish I had a webcam in my backyard that I could be watching instead of looking through all these stupid news updates
Hey, sorry guys........... stay safe. I'd evacuate over concern for the smoke even if the fire is not eminent.
Here are some pictures of the areas that are burning.. the hills of Cielo, RSF, ect. The scary thought is that with the amount of trees in RSF the fire would be impossible to contain. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
just called my friend in olivenhein there are NO fires in Olivenhein at the moment. He can also see clear across the valley of RSF from his place because hes on a small hill looking east, I know for a fact that you can see the Bridges from his place (or at least the tree tops...lol) and he can not see any red/fire anywhere so thats a good sign. I would say his radius looking back would be as far north as the bridges maybe a little more, and as far east as the bend in camino del norte heading east as it intersects del dios just west of the crosbies (he cant see the crosby estates) and as far south as probably just beyond the bridge on encinitas blvd just past firenze and marie calenders. But again he says he cant see any red skies so thats a good sign for RSF. San Marcos is under control and suppose to be 100% contained within the next day or two so hopefully they will be able to get that done ASAP and put those resources elsewhere......good luck everyone, stay safe and god be with you all!
My house is in that last picture, on the street on the left, at the end of the cul-de-sac... I am worried, but at least we have the golf course as a buffer, and they said they're running all the sprinklers.
Right now I am at a Starbucks by Westfield Plaza. Westfield is where it said to go on the City of Carlsbad website. They say the fire may be getting near where I live but idk if they really know what they are talking about because a bunch of the people keep saying different things (its mandatory, it's not mandatory, etc.). I hope everything and everyone is ok.
Not mandatory in Mira Mesa. They called a mandatory evac of Scripps Ranch around 3PM on the East side of the 15. The fire is still in Poway and hasn't entered Scripps Ranch yet. Mira Mesa HS is still listed as an evac center. With that said, I drove into Mira Mesa to pick up supplies earlier today and a bunch of people were leaving as the air quality is extremely poor.
will do for sure, the moment he sees red in the sky he is leaving since his wife is handicapped and it will take them a while to get going, even though they are ready. I told him to call me if that happens so I can help out again. go home. the mandatory evac for coronado valley (where the fire is) and san elijo hills has been lifted, 50% contained with 100% controllability and should be 100% contained within the next day or two
Thats amazing that they are uploading news videos in youtube now almost realtime... http://www.youtube.com/user/SanDiegoNews8
4S Ranch is still in evac last I heard, about 15 minutes ago. residents of encinitas are returning home though so that must be a good sign of the rsf fire since thats the one that will move through to them if it does.
