    The long way home
No problem. I know at the Calgary Auto Show, the car and representative were from Grand Touring in TO.

They're awesome cars to see "in the wild"... absolutely huge!

this is second time. once i saw it parked by the beach.

recently while i was crunching some numbers waiting for bus wow a beautiful red f430 spyder awaits in the traffic. i've never seen f430 so up close.....it was a very young guy driving it.

need ford gt info asap, possibly going to pull the trigger here on a black with white stripe gt.

    what are:
    1. # made, and have they stopped production?
    2. resale value after a 4 years? should i expect the value to decrease by a lot? i dont expect it to appreciate in value, but what % am i looking at as far depreciation goes?
    3. anyone here own one in BC that i can contact?

    huge thanks folks.

    thanks ML84

just did a bit of research and a quick late night call to my dealer and hes telling me ~150-60. with my trade in on the navigator i should expect ~100-10k. total of ~4000 were produced world wide which is a good number, im sure resale wont be too bad. gonna see if i can plan a test drive within the next few days. i have photos ill post later. just got back, snapped a few with phone.

cant remember, but i think the calipers on the gt are black as well. i guess if i pull the trigger ill have them smoked :)

it was comfortable, interior seemed really really quite, everything was very light. the engine was a proper engine, looked great.

Good choice. From what I have heard Ford GT's are easily modified. As for the resale value I don't expect it to go down much...just a few thoughts.

it's all relative - everything depreciates once there's another "flavour of the month". All the other Ford performance products in the past 30 years have depreciated, why not the Ford GT? Not like it's as rare as the Mustang Cobra R's out there.

I'll take your input on the easily modified bit, but come on - on the depreciation bit I'm doubting your first hand expertise.

Yeah - I've had a *****y day. sorry - and although I find a lot of the posts on Fchat valuable, some need bigger caveats.

I had a Cobra Conv, depreciated big time, which was no surprise. I believe 348 spiders are due for a big price correction with the currency fluctuations and 15 year RIV limitations coming up. The currency fluctuations will also hit the Ford GT - what were they in the US - $150k USD? and $220k+ CDA up here or so? that's gotta hurt.

Thanks for the link, and for the caveat: I have no issue with your opinion - but worried that someone may be dropping $200k on a car using your unqualified input as possibly more than it is.

I'm sure the original poster is aware what the price delta is today - but in two years: is it going to be depreciating more or less than a 360, for instance. that's a much tougher question to answer.
