The time has officially come guys, putting the 355 up on the market...what do you think is a fair price to ask for it? 95 Red/Tan 6 spd. 26k miles (originally US car), brought it in myself. Did engine out svc, new belts, alternator, manifolds, clutch, valve guides all within the last 6 mths. Also has a tubi exhaust. Your input is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    I'm going to say $70-$76K.

How are the general re-sale for US based cars in Canada?

I'd expect it to be stronger than that as well - maybe trade-in at $70's? but there's real dealers on here who'd probably talk you down lower than that :D

US cars should still bring strong $'s as they're effectively impossible to bring in today, so competitive comparison is impossible. How much is a bumper, speedo, and DRL being messed with worth - not much imo. How strong is the title trail - any Florida or LA connections? Who's done the work on the car, what condition is it in - equally important.

While a fan of the 355 styling; the huge number of 360's on the market could hurt future value. Especially by the time when 2010 rolls around. Do you want 5 valves or 4?

I don't think so. That's close to spider numbers.

I believe it's a Berlinetta correct? I would have to say Samimi is right. If the car is really nice I would say in the neighbourhood of $75000.00. And that's here in this CDN market. Because down in the US this car would be alot less.

A quik search on ebay brings up this gorgeous 10K mile GTS http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-Ferrari-355-GTS-Blue-w-10k-mi-PRICED-TO-SELL_W0QQitemZ230184352855QQihZ013QQcategoryZ6212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem for with a option to "buy-it-now" for $67500.00

$67500.00 is not a fair value..........this car has unverified mileage!!

Correct and if you want 4 valves you pay more for the 360. The 5 valve idea was more flow and less weight for the valve springs to handle and in theory improved emissions. The '4 valve' design proved more practical though for the Ferrari with further development.

Then the question is do you want valve guide issues with 40 valves or 32?

As I meantionned it was a quik search on my part. Ok, perhaps you can add more to this thread and give us a value of the original thread posters car.

    How about a clean 99 Spider for $87000.00??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-FERRARI-355-SPIDER-10K-DWN-1132-A-MONTH-0-A-C_W0QQitemZ140171110396QQihZ004QQcategoryZ6212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I do understand you can't bring them to Canada.

The 360 seems very popular judging by the numbers Ferrari built. What is the rev limit on a 355? More or less than a 360? Do more but smaller valves make a difference?
Simple is usually better but it can't be too big a deal or cost for 8 more valves once you have things apart. The car in question here has new valve guides but the issue was really with the material used for the valve guides in the early 1995 355's.

I've seen that car in person, its super nice. The building in the background is where I live.
The Naples Motorsports guys are pretty good at what they do, so I'm sure they will be able to track down the history of the car. If they do, thats an awesome price for that GTS!!

    87k sounds more realistic.

I just bought (3 weeks ago) a 95 spider with fresh belt service as well as valves and guides done and documented for just over 60k
Car has 17k miles on it 1 owner..........check my profile pic.

    I know it sounds more realistic....but it's a 99 Spider! The original car is a 95 355B.

Congrats on your car, I saw the thread you created about how you are desperatly waiting for it LOL, I don't blame you :)

I know that a few 99 F1 Spiders have sold out here for 130,000+, If it is a clean 95B (no major accidents and service up to date) I think he could get mid 80s.

I swear f cars are going for a bit more in BC, or were just paying more over here.

Thanks for all the great input guys, I think I'm going to list it at $89,900 and see what happens. I will give a finder's fee of $1000 to anyone who can find me a serious buyer.

Good luck, it never hurts to see...i think you are in the ballpark, but being winter now, if you could hold out i would say wait.

As far as 355/360 prices....the fact still remains they BUILT TOO MANY CARS.

Who would have ever thought a similar condition 308 glass car would be the same money as a 355 ?

Nishttdawg, too bad it wasnt red/black...i prefer the 355b over a spider, even though US if it had strong history i would have been interested.

Good luck !! Let us know what it sells for (eventually)....good to see where we all peg these cars.

    Cheers !

Where are the spiders for 80g's?! Only thing remotely close that i've seen are the ones on the autotrader at "LSG" and they've got rust on them?
