Interesting that they didn't record lap times. Maybe they didn't want to demoralize KR and FM?

...Im sure that´s exactly why...besides we wont be pushing it enough...he´s retired for a reason, if he were to brake Kimmi or Felipe times on track, he´ll need to really try...time off must add some lag.
    I NEED PICTURES OF THAT!

I know its unlikely that Mike will come back to race but Ferrari would gain a huge advantage if all he did was test for them. I have a feeling that he just cant stay away and we will see him in a drivers suite for some reason this coming winter and or next season.

The guy would be rusty so he wouldn't want to embarrass himself or be measured against when he was at his peak. Besides, he's more valuable to F as a racing gawd not some has been. No lap times and you don't really know how he's doing these days ;)

I would bet some mechanic had a stopwatch on him. He probably is on a retainer and has a no-compete clause in his separation agreement. Ferrari doesn't want anybody else to have him...

He may have put on some weight, but he's not going to lose his skill in one year!

I'm not surprised he hasn't driven the car until now. To see him run quicker lap times than the two current drivers would not look good for the team. I kind of figured he'd get a shot at the car once the season was over.

Lauda came back after along layoff and ended up WDC, but he came back specifically for the money.
Regardless, he came back after 5-6 years off and won.

Alan Jones came back and never should have, but they dangled such a HUGE dollar amount in front of him that he couldn't refuse.

Ferrari would be foolish not to take advantage of Schumacher's input.

Very likely at the race of champions and at his annual go kart event in Kerpen. But highly unlikely anywhere else.

He might have been a slight bit faster at the beginning of the season/pre season, but at this point I doubt he would be able to match their times since they've had the whole season to get used to the car and he hasn't been in a race seat at all.

i don't know how many of you saw this recent story, so I am posting this:

    Joy ride with a genius
Racing idol Michael Schumacher takes Fortune columnist Sue Zesiger Callaway out for the (face-sucking, tire-burning) ride of her life.

I don't think Kimi would like Michael developing his car. Besides isn't it true that the way Michael likes the set up on his car makes it very hard to drive for most other drivers?

i thikn thats true. if u manage to grab a copy of thsi month's F1 racing mag, there's an article, about Kimi. according to that article, Kimi's early season slump was not due to the tyres, in fact it was to do with the traction control.

the article pointed out that MS and Massa uses the TC to the max, but using that, Kimi struggles. since Indy, Kimi has been setting up the car hsi own style, hence the results.

I bought that issue days ago but actually never read the article until earlier today. I found it very interesting. It was saying how they both take the first part of the turn exactly the same but exit in totally different manner and that is why they need completely different setup.
What I found most interesting is that according to this same article, next year without traction control Kimi and Hamster should actually have an advantage because of their driving styles.
