I have never heard of a car careening out of control on asphalt or concrete and not leaving skid marks all over the place unless it was wet. You can bet the ranch that experts will be called in to assess the circumstance of the crash during litigation and I would not be surprised if they can accurately place the car's speed within 5mph of the actual.
VH1 has the season premier of HOGAN KNOWS BEST tonight....guess what? He's getting THE FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD for 2007 10:00 est
I couldn't believe that when I saw that a few weeks ago. I don't think any self-respecting person, could actually accept such an award. If I were ever acknowledged I would turn it down, or just not show up. Not to mention it's a joke by giving it to a celebrity. Albeit a D-List celeb.
With out a radar gun it is impossible for the witnesses to testify that he was speeding. The could say he was moving faster than the other traffic but how do they know how fast the other cars were going? maybe they were going 20 below the speedlimit .
I'm sure the reason the police are holding off on issuing the full report is that they are doing test and lab work... i would guess when someone dies or is hurt for life like John is... that you could even do such advance test as metal structure impact engineering. I know the speed of the Palm Tree=x, and I know how far the metal frame got bent=y, so do a little math and you get the missing vairable z=speed (witness statements are only a starting point) Clearwater is a sleepy little town,... but we had one other crazy wreck back in 1982 when a guy jumped the open draw bridge to the beach ( in his Trans Am, Smokey and the Bandit edition). The photo in the newspaper showed a guy that looked like Kid Rock standing next to his car with 4 flat tires and busted rims, being given the "walk a line and touch your nose test" by the police. He didn't get hurt because he jumped the bridge as it was opening and it was only about 20% up. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Man I wish I would have seen that. That is one of those things that you always want to do, but are never actually dumb enough to follow through with it.
Oh, some of us in Oklahoma are, but we just don't have drawbridges... Here buddy, hold my beer - I'm gonna try somethin -
Okay I found it.... (my mistake, its not Clearwater/ its Fort Lauderdale, but it was in the Clearwater paper) And the winner is..... this guy- Image Unavailable, Please Login
From Nick's MySpace Page: "omggggg its been forever since i blogged...hell i dont even know what blog means but i guess its where you write stuff for people to read anyways my last one was before i even drove for mopar, if you check my pics youll see that i did end up driving for them for my amateur season and most of my pro rookie season. i recently left the mopar team tho...things didnt work out to well but!....i picked up a new title sponsor...POLAROID! and started my own team with twin 350z's pretty cool i know anyways id like everyone to wish my luck for my 08 season and keep john graziano in your prayers" Un-'friggin-believable. I weep for mankind.
Sounds like he must be taking the life-threatening injury to his friend very much to heart. It must be cool to KNOW when you are cool and to SPEW the knowledge of it forth YOURSELF on the web. It would also seem that the Daddy Hulk & Co. has him firmly in hand now.
Drunk driving and reckless driving aside, the guy has a point: there's no law (AFAIK) about cars flying!
He should be blogging about his friends condition instead of his joke of a "racing" career. I wonder if Polaroid even knows the story of this kid. He shouldn't even be allowed near a car with his record.
Local Clearwater News, lead-off with a tease saying people are going to protest Polaroid. But I didn't catch the News to hear the full story.
Really? Good for them. Polaroid doesn't offer anything worth wild for me. So I don't even have to try to not give them my business.
Read the story to the right. Sometimes you can get away with asshat moves and sometimes you can't. Unfortunately the asshat usually survives.
Nick Bollea loses major sponsorship Monday, October 29, 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nick Bollea will lose Polaroid as a sponsor in 2008.PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- Polaroid says they're not going to renew their sponsorship for Nick Bollea's drift car. "We have a signed deal for 2007 not for 2008," said Cheryl Mau, VP of Marketing, with Polaroid. "We do not have a signed sponsorship agreement with Nick Hogan for the 2008 race season. " Polaroid is not releasing the reason why they're not renewing the deal. The announcement comes just a couple months after Bollea crashed his car, critically injuring his friend, John Graziano. George Tragos, the attorney for Graziano's mom, says it's probably a risk that the company is not willing to take. Tragos says considering the criminal case that's being investigated, Nick should keep a low profile. ************ More Information ************ According to the celebrity website TMZ, Hulk Hogan's son recently blogged about the sponsorship on his Myspace page. According to TMZ, Bollea was excited about the sponsorship, blogging: 'i picked up a new title sponsor...POLAROID! and started my own team with twin 350z's pretty cool i know. anyways id like everyone to wish my luck for my 08 season and keep john graziano in your prayers.' Bayfront Hospital says they're no longer allowed to give out information about Graziano's condition but Tragos says he is showing steady improvement. Clearwater police say the crash investigation should be finished within the next week. Bollea's attorney, Kevin Hayslett, says he does not know why Polaroid is not renewing its contract with his client and that he's not involved in that aspect of the case.
So I managed to catch a snip-it of Hulk speaking to the idiots that gave him "father of the year" award. I almost choked on my coffee when Hulk talked about how great his two kids were and couldn't ask for better ones. When is Hulk going to make Nick get a job flipping burgers? Actually he should get a job, helping out at the hospital where he will see the impact every day of what so many unfortunate people have to go through. Something like that so hopefully it will open his eyes, and maybe give a damn about others. I honestly wish someone would interview Hogan and push the envelope with him as to why he didn't take away Nick's car privledges after all of his tickets. The State of Florida should also be questioned why they didn't suspend his license.
The kid is living in a different world, let's see how long his site stays up. http://hogandrift.com I completely agree he needs a real job. Maybe work in a emergency ward or do plenty of court ordered ride-a-longs with local EMT's.
Wow. Good idea about the ride-a-longs. My friends a fireman and drives the ambulance occasionally. The 'minor' stories I've heard are bad enough to hear, let alone see.

I don't get the whole "making arrangements to turn himself in" thing. If it was you or me, the cops show up at your house and cart you off to the pokey. Why would this chump have to "make arrangements"? What arrangements are there? You get arrested on the warrant, then you get arraigned the next day and maybe make bail, that's it. I hope doesn't end up getting of scot free on this one.
http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=67155 also has a link to the official police release, He is being charged as an adult and with a felony..........
I don't think he will end up with a felony on his record, but he will be barred from driving for at least 10 years. I wonder if Hulk is going to fight this to the fullest with a high powered attorney, or let Nick live with his consequences?
