Dale - I heard that Bobby may leave under the condition that they hire his son Tommy Bowden from Clemson. I'm in Clemson country, but this wasn't from a Clemson source. Have you heard any such thing?
I am not sure that is a good idea - or even possible for Bobby to try and pull off. For example, how many more years can he stick around "not leaving" until they say yes to the Tommy thing? He isn't going anywhere for a while anyway. I think Bobby will fall on his face trying to beat out Paterno in total wins in the end. He will NEVER pass him in total Div 1 wins, they are both too old for that to ever happen. Joe Pa has that record sewed up good.
Frankly, I'd be the last to know. You gotta remember my last year (of several) at FSU was Bowden's first. All I know is that this is embarrassing to watch. Bobby has clearly lost his touch, both on the field and in momma's kitchen. Maybe Jimbo can turn it around. Not sure. But this is really tuff to watch. Dale
Thanks, I'll take the gift. I used to wish Bobby would leave so you guys would have to adjust to a new coach like every other program. But these days I hope he stays until he is 100. My opinion is that he got out coached. The fake FG, the quick punt formation, going for it on fourth at the 1 early. Although the penalty count was almost even, the penalties certainly hurt FSU more than Miami. I think our new coaches discipline routine helped us win the game. I think FSU had a better QB, but otherwise we were pretty evenly matched. I went to dinner before we took the lead, but watched the replay last night. Overall, I think we were the better team, although there were individual players on FSU who were superior. Your coaches did not seem to take advantage of the superior player matchups very often. BT
Richt has really been adopted by the UGA faithful, for sure. But, if he were to go anywhere it would be FSU - he is practically a Bowden anyway..
I really don't think that was the case as Bobby doesn't even coach anymore. He just stands on the sidelines nowadays.
Somebody was directing the team on FSU's side of the ball. Whoever that is got out coached. If it isn't Bobby, then things are even worse for the future of the team. People have said that our new coach has a useless discipline program, but to me it was evident that one big difference Saturday was the discipline we had, and FSU didn't. In previous years we would have easily had 4-5 personal fouls for late hits, etc... that would have definitely given the game to FSU. I look forward to the next several years. BT
Thought about making its own thread, because Im that excited Virginia Tech vs. Boston College Predictions anyone? For me its gonna be VT, they are my team, they are good, they will win, by how much depends on who their quarterback is tomorrow sean glennon cannot move. Defense for vt=sickness
I think VT will win, but I am hoping for BC since that is our best hope to keep our ACCCG chances alive. Good luck in the game tonight, it should be a good one. Plus you have the history of Thursday night games in your favor with the underdog winning pretty much every week. BT
Blacksburg is a very tough place to win if you're visiting. Vegas agrees, by a 3 point spread to VT. I'm pulling for as well as picking Virginia Tech. Special teams will probably be the difference, and Beamer always wins that one. I don't think Matt "Ice" Ryan is as good as the east coast media has hyped him to be; he's about 30th in passer rankings. His Heisman hype is somewhat legit - they wouldn't be there without him - but he's not anywhere near as effective as Tebow, who is my pick for the front runner. Ohio State will lose soon too; the door's still wide open for anyone to put up a nice year-ending winning streak and slip into the championship.
Wow, Matt Ryan is really overrated. Had 48% completions, 2 interceptions, and needed an onside kick recovery to win that game. If he wins the Heisman, I hope his knees get blown out in the NFL. What an overrated conference, QB, VT defense, and BC offense. A complete waste of my time tonight. P.S. And hopefully the AP and Coaches rankings will stop ranking VT so high because of the shootings back in April. We get it, you want them to be America's team, but they're not. So stop ranking them where they shouldn't be.
VT defense is great when they are playing four on the line, when they go three and relax because they think they won, the obviously suck nuts. I am in so much shock I cannot believe it... if only Tyrod Taylor were playing, hes too much of the man to let that happen. And Vince Hall would have been nice, o well were going to have to wait till Tyrod becomes a Junior before we can have a legit chance at winning it all, not that we would this year, but a nice trip to a good bowl would have been nice. Bummer venting on the internet is stupid
how are they overranked losing to the #2 country in the nation in the last seconds? also BCS is computer ranked so dont be a smart*ss about it
VT defense giving 45 points to LSU and then blowing this. Not to mention their meltdown against UGA in the Peach Bowl last season. Btw, BC isn't really the #2 team. They got that spot by default since the rankings are based on your timing of losses. LSU lost their game not too far back and thus aren't ranked as high as they should be. They would easily beat BC. No question.
Peach Bowl Meltdown I blame solely on Sean Glennon, thats why I dont really like him, LSU that game was terrible I was there and it was sad, LSU is really really really good no matter what. I agree LSU is a better team then #3, but Va Tech is not THAT overrrated, this meltdown, I dont even know what to say, it needs to be forgotten... fast but i declare peace on this one im letting it go, got a little to worked up
That speaks pretty poorly of you. I am glad I stayed up to watch the end of the game. I don't see why BC should not be ranked ahead of LSU. I am glad the game ended the way it did. Kind of reminded me of last weekend (but with much lower scoring). And VT should not have really had 10 points based on the replay of their TD. BT

Although those were impressive wins against Army and Notre Dame (who sucks worse than Tulane this year) Hey that might be a pretty good game Notre Dame vs Tulane. And I won't bring up Ohio State playing a ranked team for the first time this year.
So LSU has beaten 4 of 5 teams that are (or were) ranked, and BC has beaten the 2 or 3 teams that are (or were ranked). Why should your perception of a strong schedule keep your team from dropping in the polls when they lose? I understand the frustration, but that's the way it has always been. If BC wins out and LSU wins out, and OSU wins out, and OU wins out, what would you think the NC matchup should be? I dislike OSU more than any other team, but I would think they should still play for the NC. My comment to you was that it is very unsportsmanlike to wish injury on a player just because you do not like them. I don't mind people standing up for their favorite team. It is likely that any of the top 20 teams could beat just about any of the top 20 teams this year. Just look at the teams that have pulled upsets. I don't think it is silly to think a no loss ACC or Big Ten champ should go to the championship game. Auburn loses to USF, Alabama loses to FSU and these are two of the better SEC teams. USF is having a good year, FSU is not. Winning every week has become just about the only formula for winning a NC in the past 25 years. Often times one loss puts you out of the running. Even when Auburn was undefeated a few years ago they did not get to play. Without a playoff the choices are really limited. With a playoff I could envision the SEC teams claiming that they should have maybe 50% of the playoff slots based on their conference 'difficulty'. How have the players from the SEC progressed in the NFL? Are they really the best players, or is it just a very competitive conference? BT
I'm not the one that wished injury upon a player. Get that straight first. If you don't play any ranked teams for the first 8 games it is easy to be undefeated that should not be worth as much as someone who loses to one quality opponent when they play a ranked team week in and week out. And apples to apples LSU 48 VA TECH 7 / BC 14 VA Tech 10. And LSU ranked victories are all still ranked right now.
Here show me where BC ranked opponents are or Ohio State's. Point them out to me I forgot my galsses at home today. BCS 1. Ohio State 8-0 2. Boston College 7-0 3. LSU 7-1 4. Arizona State 7-0 5. I figured out your defense of BC. Nov 24. That explains it. Hey no hard feelings what ever it takes to console you after two 51-13 losses in one year. Hang in there at least nobodys gone to jail so far this year.
