I blatantly stole this from another board - I love our champion, but this is classic...... Kevin S. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A friend of mine had the priviledge to hang with the team at a GP this year. Kimi was in civvies hanging with his buddies. Then a team member tips him slightly on the arm and just says "Kimi". Then he gets into his suit, puts on the helmet and climbs into the car. No drama, just like another day at the office. And then he hammers another lap record into the track. Iceman is the right name.
My emotions since Kimi won the 2007 WDC have been very volitile too. Sometimes I'm overjoyed. Other times I'm ecstatic. As I said before, If the Iceman smiles only one a time a year when he wins the WDC for Ferrari, It's OK with me as long as it's EVERY year.
I did get *very* emotional when he crossed the finish line in Interlagos. And ever since I'm thinking how much nicer it is to live in a world where Kimi is a WDC. It's like a Hollywood movie where despite everything else the good guy wins in the end. Just that this time it is for real.
Perfectly described. I was having one of those "in pain" days, but I felt great for the rest of the day ater watching that miracle.
Kimi is always so cool and normal, that's why he is so likeable. Since he's one the championship I've been so happy, that Monday after Kimi and the Cowboys won was such a great day.
Given his reputation for partying late into the night, you just KNOW that he must let loose sometimes! That whole thing is quite hilarious and he clearly enjoys messing with everyone about the Iceman personality. I can just see it now, "Hmmmmm, how many monotonic words can I string into a single run on sentence in the next press conference, my record is 250, maybe I can reach 270 next time if I decide to mumble on and on about every lap of the race and describe even my pre-race s**t in the process!"
+1 I hope he gets on the podium each race if not the win. Watching him enjoy the champagne like no one else and trying to make out the words he says in the post-race interview always puts a smile on my face. I was very happy for him in Brazil. Hopefully he keeps it up!
Those photos are funny because it's totally true. Even my wife (who doesn't know F1 from go-karts) said "why is he mumbling?" -- to which I replied "his speaking has greatly improved" One thing that bugs me is that he always picks at the inside corner of his eye when starting to speak -- someone please stop him from doing that!
+1000! Even now when I'm not having the best day or if something isn't going well for me I just think to myself..."it's ok, it's not that bad, at least Kimi's the WDC"...then I suddenly feel so much better.
