    Dear Gentleman Comrade al70,

Yes, you really do need to acquire something with an excellent providence. I do know of a multi-concours winning example in private ownership. Do let me know if this has any appeal.

    With kind regards,

Thank you Graham, it sounds great though I believe the premium attached to a low mileage, multi-concours car would mean it is more suitable for a collector, than someone intending to use it a bit more regularly.

Hmm. Sort of reminds me of maintaining a thread in the Ferrari Supercars section. Agitation, expletives, F40s, it seems its par for the course :)

While the rough around the edges/hand crafted nature of the F40 is something that gives it character and personality, others have a more humorous viewpoint.

A quote attributed to Gordon Murray :

Interviewer: "Will the McLaren F1 be your answer to the Ferrari F40?"
Gordon Murray: "Hmm... I don't think we have anyone at McLaren who can weld that badly..."

    Dear Gentleman Comrade RufMD,

Thank you for posting this link. I had not seen it previously. And having been an integral part of that fabulous weekend it brought all the excitement of that truly memorable day flooding back. And for a while, I was able to sit quietly with all the happiness of the day reignited. Never, will I forget being out on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit with all those fabulous machines. It was one of the best days - ever.

With kind regards and much appreciation.

    Dear Gentleman Comrade Gemm,

F40 LMs are rather special F40s because of their specification, and because they have been tried & tested in competition. Accordingly "pics" of them deserve to be identified. The pics posted are of 2 seperate F40LMs owned by Luciano Della Noce's Ennea Brummel Team racing in 1995. One car (number 60) was piloted by Della Noce himself, along with Anders Olofsson and Tetsuya Ota. The other (number 61, see below) was driven by Massimo Monti, Fabio Mancini and Gary Ayers and the event is the 4 hours de Paris run at Montlhery that year. Both cars raced in BPR that year including the 24 hours of Le Mans. Chassis numbers would be nice too, but perhaps thats for another thread...

Nice sourced period images of the F40 racing against Mc Larens, amazing to think thats 12 years ago already! Thanks for posting.

Just saw a clip on tv showing George Foreman's 40 car collection at his home in Houston. Wouldn't ya know it, he's got a minty lookin' F40 sitting there. Luckily he's been using his Grill, and looks like he could fit in there no problem...

True, he is a real car guy with about 35 cars in this garage in Houston, plus a bunch more in Beverly Hills.

In the right image you can just about see the F40 behind the 360 Spyder. Apologies for the poor quality.

Since you're so keen for accuracy, I thought I would let you know that 360 Spider is spelled with an "i" and not a "y". ;)
