There's just no escape for me and my SLR! Let's see what happens at Interlagos next weekend (and in Paris.....) - I may have to sell the SLR if Kimi can pull it out of the hat!!
Damn, the car is popping up all over the internet ! Maranello this time . http://www.exoticsonroad.com/pictures_2007_9/bild20079145119610___mercedesmclarenslredition722.jpg
Was it just me or was RTB being interviewed on speed during the Le Mans highlights. BTW, looks like you're gonna have to sell that SLR... Go Kimi and Ferrari!
Yes - I was interviewed by Justin Bell! We'd just come throught a difficult patch - from second in GT1 to last overall after being hit by an LMP2 car at 3am! We finished 10th in GT1, 17th overall, so not as good as last year (4th and 9th) but the mechanics won the prize for the best crew at Le Mans. AWESOME RESULT FOR KIMI AND FERRARI!!
Rik, how many FXX are expected to attend at the world finals?? I'l be there, hopefully get to meet you, would be a pleasure of all pleasures, Regards
Thank you for clarifying that, I did not know that this was the case. A source tells me that 8 or 9 cars developed terminal engine trouble in the same weekend at the French track. I dont know how reliable my source is thats why I was looking for clarification from RTB. At any rate, they are cars so things will break eventually. RTB you can PM me if you wish, and I will treat it as confidential. Joe www.joesackey.com
Just curious, but what`s it to you (this important) if some of them had engine pb or not ? Do you keep a registry or something ?
Any information on this attempt to legalize the FXX in Switzerland? http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/30/crazy-rich-guy-attempts-to-legalize-ferrari-fxx-for-the-street/
I love this program, but especially from a market research point of view. When the buyer was invited to purchase/lease the car, were they required to participate in a certain number of the test sessions? I know that there have been several test sessions but (I don't follow it with a fine toothed comb or anything) it doesn't seem like a lot of owners are there. It devalues the program from Ferrari's perspective if people don't use the cars so it seems likely that they would place a number on how many times the buyer would use the car. Anyone know?
There doesn't seem to be any requirement to participate in test sessions...I've never seen a photo of the light blue swiss enzo on track, and if you look at the "race" numbers only about 15 seem to take part. The best example is the bare carbon fiber FXX Jean Todt is supposed to own, but no one has ever seen
Final Report! The World Finals were great, as to be expected! Mugello is a fantastic circuit! All the FXXs behaved themselves with JT keeping a close eye on them, although there was one car "bumped"...... Roll-on next year with the FXX Evolution kit! I hope to write the "FXX Evo World Tour" next year, probably from North America and Europe. Thank you all for your support. Here are some of my favourite pics. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! will the existing cars be upgraded, or can you trade the one you have in for a new one? I have no idea how these things work. BTW I had the pleasure of witnessing these babies at Spa in 2006 and it is quite the spectacle. To put it mildly...
Thank YOU, RTB!!! For posting such as you do and sharing lots of info with other car crazy people. We'll waiting for next years tour, indeed! p.s. And of course we all hope to see more of this: Image Unavailable, Please Login
As per your recommendation Rik, I have now read this thread!!! Fabulous is all I can say. You are truly living my dream. People asked what was the point of the FXX??? Simple, the most devastating track toy there is (until maybe the Caparo T1 came along). The sheer violence of it (as shown in the Video or Manuma driving which was great) is just awe inspiring. I am most interested to hear that the FXX is not your only toy!!! What a brilliant collection, I think you are doing what all true petrolheads would do given time and resources! While at very different ends of the budget spectrum (my whole rally car is probably worth as much as the accelerator pedal on the FXX!!), we both seem to spend all our money going motor racing!!! No better way to spend it in my opinion.
