What is the main difference between the Stage 3 Capristo and the Twin Sound Capristo? I guess what I mean is one louder or more "raw" than the other? I would think maybe the stage 3 is a little more aggressive sounding..thanks for any info you can provide

With stage 3 you don’t have the option of being silent. However it sounds more controlled, better tuned sound.
Twin sound has an optional remote control or a hardwire switch installed, you can have system bypass the silencers on demand.
If you keep it auto mode, which basically is controlled by the vacuum of the engine, your right foot is the volume control, it can be as dossal as stage 1 or raw sound of a Formula 1 race car.

FYI...I have Level 3 on my Stradale (Yikes!!!! forget about being stealth), in any case, make sure whoever installs it moves exhaust as far foward as possible which requires a little extra work on lower mount where O2 sensor is. If that is not opened to where the exhaust has at LEAST 1" from the rear cross member by trunk latch...I guarantee you that the exhaust canister will expand when it gets to operating temperature and rub on that cross member causing an annoying vibration. If they dont relieve that area, and only push the exhaust as far as that O2 sensor will allow....it will not be enough clearance.

It is no big deal....just have installer move foward, and expect nothing but awesome sound!!!

Thank you very much for the great info and especially your 2nd post about how to install it to avoid the vibration. It is greatly appreciated!!

So in terms of loudness are they basically the same but with the TS you have the option of toning it down whereas the S3 is just loud the whole time? Also are they both considered race exhausts as I ve noticed the S3 has "ONLY FOR RACING" on it. thanks again

I apologize if I'm cutting into this thread inappropriately but the title of this message is very appropriate for my proposal.

Is anyone interested in trading their Tubi (standard) for an upgraded Capristo Stage 3?

I have a 2003 360 Modena Coupe with a Meridan Automotive exhaust system made by Capristo and verified by Antonio Capristo as made by his shop. My Capristo is a Stage 3 with upgraded carbon fiber exhaust tips, rimmed in chrome. I would like to trade my Capristo for a Tubi (standard model, in excellent condition, including all hardware), no money exchanged.

While I absolutely love the sound of my Capristo, my neighbors don’t appreciate it as much as I do, especially in the mornings when I start up my 360. I live in San Francisco on a very quiet street and have very prominent neighbors.

My guilt is winning the argument between my visceral enjoyment of the sound or being a menace to society. So I’m willing to trade for a Tubi.

The value of my Capristo is $4,199 plus $300 for the carbon fiber tips = $4,499. I know the Tubi sells for $3,995 but as I said, I’m willing to make the sacrifice. All I ask is you ship your Tubi to be me first, I’ll have my mechanic make the switch and I’ll ship my Capristo to you. That way my car will be inactive for the shortest amount of time since it is my daily driver.

I made a car to car comparison of my Capristo vs Tubi. VM3 has a 03 360 with Tubi and we drove our cars together for a photo session. The Tubi sounds like the snarl of a Panther while the Capristo is more like the roar of a lion. At low revs the Capristo is more baritone and at high revs it is a growl.

    PM me if interested.

Back to the top. This Capristo system is waiting anxiously to be attached to its new home inside a 360, or 360CS!

Marlin: The Cap 3 and the twin sound are NOT the same sound. With the Cap 3, the exhaust is always going through the muffler. With the twin sound, the exhaust is either going through essentially a Cap1 muffler, or NO muffler.

Nick: Can we buy just the "ends" of a system (flange to tips) separately?
In this way, changing tips would be a simple bolt off/bolt on procedure.

Can we buy the endpipes separately (not this particular system, but in general)?
