FIA Hiring External Experts To Inspect 2008 McLaren

Conversely, Ron, if these experts find no indication whatsoever of any Ferrari ideas being utilizied, do you think that will shut folks up around here??

Unfortunately no. The spy scandal is done and over with the season ended we got what we wanted cant' we just drop it.

 

I have my doubts that anything short of a little "time out" or two can temporarily stop the "Ferrari spawned this evil conspiracy themselves" theorists...

and, if you recall, the big supreme court hearing in Paris and the WCC forfeiture sure didn't shut up anybody back then either.

is this your forum?.....i was under the impression that it was a public discussion forum, for everyone to share "their" point of view....

point me to the rule that says that we "have" to be Ferrari team fans, and follow what the rest of the sheep do and think.......

and while you're at it, show me where either Senna3xWC or more importantly, where I have said anything about Ferrari starting the whole conspiracy......

 

In all honesty sounds a bit like an unfair witch hunt: Every F1 car of the following year has components "seen" around the paddock by competitors of the previous year. The 1980 Tyrrell was a carbon copy clone of the 1979 Williams for example.

We know McLaren copied Ferrari's brake system as the one and only major component, so that's where these experts will focus. I guess McLaren could go back to its own brake system design from the beginning of this year to play it safe. But their focus will be on making the Ferrari system look as un-Ferrari as possible.

McLaren paid its prize. Literally. Let's move on.

 

Did not mean that YOU said it. Somebody else said it, but it was so far out that I have not convinced myself yet that he really meant it.

What I meant was that nobody is going to change their mind (or shut up) just because of what Bernie & the FAI find from their observers.

There is no rule that you "have" to be Ferrari fans, of course. There is also no rule that the real Ferrari fans are sheep, nor that they are so stupid to not know the difference between the wolves and the shepherd dogs amoung them.

Also, remember it was not I who just now whimsically fantasized about "shutting somebody up", either.

 

Too bad for Max that all the true 'experts' are already employed with existing F1 teams.

Now Andreas do you see what I was sooooooo concerned about this rediculous ruling against McLaren. Now the legal idiots have got in and now all cars will have to pass some sort of intellectual property BS check. F1 and innovation is DEAD.

Thank you Ferrari for fncking up F1 completely. You cheat just as much as McLaren but no you had to go running to the FIA to dob in McLaren because you "thought at the time" that you had a weak driver pairing and were scared of LH!!!!

Now any car that wins will be protested because ofcourse they will be able to find something that some smart @rse lawyer will determine in illegally gained intelllectual property

Why didn't the FIA act like intelligent people and tell Ferrari to fnck off when they went crying to them. They should have, and yes I would have been as upset like many of you that McLaren stole an advantage, but that is the way the sport goes and next year Ferrari will come up with something else ... and maybe with a bit of help from some stollen info

I still cannot believe so many of you guys could not see this coming ... do you guys live under a rock with a F1 tuned TV set or something. This was the obvious end result of the FIA's ruling against McLaren. And yes you can blame McLaren if you want to, but as we all know (except for those in denial) Ferrari and every other team cheats all the time ... so the fault for the death of F1 is in Ferraris hands for getting the knickers in a twist about it.

Pete, I hear you, but you're not seeing the whole picture:

This is no longer about Ferrari or the brake system. Ferrari got what it wanted, the constructor's title and a heavy penalty on their competitor. Regardless of how advanced Ferrari is, their 07 technology won't cut it in 08 for a top team (which is why Ferrari will build a new car just like anybody else). So to think much of a 07 Ferrari will be in a 08 McLaren is idiotic to begin with. The 07 Ferrari would make a nice Spyker (or whatever they'll be called) 08, but not much else. But I digress:

This is all about Mad Max getting even with his arch nemesis Ron Dennis. So fear not, this has and will not set a precedent to F1. Your lawyer scenario won't happen. Max just wants to kick Dennis out of F1 in the same way he wanted to get rid of Stoddart (and did). What Max is really trying to do is apply pressure on McLaren-Mercedes showing them, that they will be harrassed forever unless they get rid of RD. Mercedes are fools if they don't send RD in retirement. Those 15% stocks aren't worth the trouble. Just buy the man out and be done with it. Max will gladly return to his pitbull dog house on Trafalgar square.

You realize there was allegedly an offer on the table for the McLaren team to get off the hook (meaning not having to pay 100 million USD) *IF* RD had resigned the night before the 2nd hearing? This is all about two egos being bigger than the sport.

The ball is in Mercedes court.

 

I agree and understand that this is about polictics (see http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137191091&postcount=26, but I incorrectly blamed Bernie instead of Max ... ), but it has set a dangerous precendent that the teams could always use if they wanted too. This scares me.

So yes Max (and Ferrari) used this to stick it to RD, but now next year when BMW say get pissed with Renault they could go running to the FIA and say well based on Ferrari's case last year, etc.

So yes maybe I should be mad at Ferrari AND MAX for using such a stupid and immature method that COULD fnck the sport completely all because RD is a polictical competitor.

IMO, This also has a lot to do with RD incessantly lying about/denial of, the fairly common MMcL team knowledge, of the illicitly possessed documents. Which created the need for a much longer and more involved investigation by the FIA and more embarrassment for F1 in general.

I can just see it coming: FIA will hire Microsloth to keep McLaren "honest".

But who's going to run the code review on the McLaren/Microsloth ECU?

 

Time and again the imbeciles (?) from FIA have shown in their inconsistent rulings, that they cannot be compared to the rulings of a Supreme Court. They make decisions as they see fit and what suits the entertainment (I know you hate that word, but Bernie made it that way) factor of the sport. The FIA doesn't go by legal logic like precedents etc.

Point in case: They didn't go after the Renault case McLaren was hinting at and they didn't prosecute the Toyota guys who stole Ferrari documents. Unlike a real prosecutor who is bound by the law, the FIA only prosecutes cases that fit into the political landscape or the entertainment value of the show.

Yes agree, but I personally think that the FIA is too thick to understand the implications of their decisions. How long will it be before a team takes the FIA to court? A lot of money is at stake ... could it happen?, I hope not.

How long do we think before the "independent" Experts that the FIA send over to check out th 08 Mclaren, end up as consultants at another team. (a red team).
Max is (was) Mr B's lawyer, JT is Max's best friend and is being lined up as his replacement, the list goes on.
Once RD is out of the way Max will go after FW, and so on and so on.
Max is the smartest person in the world (and he will tell you so), and these stupid people that run F1 teams (RD, FW, JSW, EJ, PS etc etc) need to be delt with, and will be one at a time, until he has his utopia. (remember when he when after Williams active suspension, because no one else other than Mclaren could get it to work as well)
What is good for max is bad for F1.
May he soon go the way of the Dodo !!

Won't happen, because it was already tried and failed: Stoddart did it before the Australian GP. The court actually was on his side (as it should have). Mad Max realizing that basically blackmailed the Australian Racing Club (or whatever they're called, the guys who organize all racing including the F1 GP), that if Stoddart goes through with this, the FIA will no longer sanction any form of racing in Australia. Stoddart didn't want that to happen and pulled back.

Basically any country's court system could overrule a FIA decision, but subsequently that country would loose any form of sanctioned motorsport. King Mad Max rules. Hallelujah.
