Noo way, reventon is not meant to be succesor of any previous model, nor it has any other exceptional values beside its design and low series status. This car is a pure marketing move, to offer something new except special series gallardo's and murcie's. It is also some kind of reward for collectors and 1st category fans. Reward? More than 1.000.000€? Yes, people from Lamborghini knew that if they make only 20 of them it could double its price in just 3-5 years, not to mention what could happen in 10.

Doubtful, considering Richard was in the studio for series 9 last spring and had much shorter hair...

(The films shown in series 9 were all filmed before the accident, so only the studio stuff is an indication of Richard post-accident)

I really like the Reventon, but I wish the side mirrors didn't look exactly like Murcielago ones. It'd be nicer if they were more angular and sharper.

The problem with Revention is some people like it and others don't who have fallowed lamborghini for sometime thats not a good thing especially for those who have respected lamborghini for sometime. This car is a slap in the face to the long term buyers.

at 20 cars to a limted production model they could have you know done something besides a bodykit and chessey Fighter plane dash lights. If its going to be the F/A-22 of the streets it should perform like one give it atleast 700hp. Everybody has been waiting for a Veyron Slayer for sometime now and for a million bucks it should have been more like a Diablo GT or Jota insead of the Coatl which was very ugly but that atleast had good performance. Give it better paint job to, I don't like that olive color sceme its got right now, they could have done much better at million a peace.

thats because it is a Murcielago
its not a new car, but simply an existing model with the addition of a few trick bits.

I'm sure if they made some new car with those wicked instruments they could sell a whole lot just on guys buying the cars for the gadgets.

I wonder how long before anyone gets their hands on a Reventon and duplicates the exterior.

It should have been named WICKED :)

it should have been named Murcielago LP640+ (or another variation on Murcielago)

im with you on the dash thing though, its very trick and the one thing i really do like on the car.
def looked better on the video than the pics, but its still not deserving of a new name and a price increase of 400%

Totaly agree, but it seems their CMO's have different ideas and views. They wanted to do something in short period of time, and what they did is new body with lp640 tweaked engine. For long term buyers, this is truely a slap in the face, but for sales and attracting new buyers from the east AND west, vthis is a quick and efficient marketing move.

This is not an F/A-22 built for the streets, this is a terrible way to make alot of money.

If this was to be a real F/A-22 it should have been more "Vector" like that anything, If I was Lamborghini Lockheed Martin would have involved with this project and like the W8 it would have used real Aircraft switches and gages barrowed from the Raptor. On top of that it would have had enough power to hold its own against anything on the road weither it be the Veyron, modified supra or vette, Hayabusa the odds would be for you very much like a Raptor against other aircrafts. But sadly the Revention doesn't deliver, If Lamborghini wanted to build a "Collectors" edition Lamborghini they should have used the Diablo 6.0 special edition as a base. I love the color on that car and yes I would have paid for it if it was wealthy at the time that car was released. Everytime I see it I know its something special, same goes with the Diablo 30th Jota, Countach25th model you know if its going to be something special make it like one of those!. Don't try and sell me a watered down Veyron!.

Iam sorry but the Revention should have been called the Black Sheep insead cause all the old school lambo lovers aren't feeling it. Anytime I see its like thats not a Lamborghini nor thats not what they are really about.

I wonder what Winston Goodfellow was paid to say that.

The car is maybe 10% different than the regular Murcielago.

It's not a "jet fighter" no matter how many times someone says it.

Cool article. A tad biased, but hey, the car looks cool (though I do dislike the front). I'd wait for more testing before making the claim that it makes the Enzo look tame (unless of course, it's just pure aesthetics, in which case the Reventon is more extreme).

"shares underpinnings with the murcielago".....it IS a murcielago with some new sheetmetal and a gizmodo instrument cluster.

The carbon trim on the wheels is just a tacked on decoration..thats sad, something GM would do.

I cant imagine anyone spending more than a million bucks for a steel tube frame exotic without any real advancement in technology....or in this case is not even close to state of the art.

This is a marketing exercise only. I like that Lambo will build some special edition models, but I think this thing is really strange and silly...and I like past strange lambos.

...but "a fool and his money are soon parted".

    cheers
    eric

All small series car producers base their business strategy on this principle, new body- borowed engine. But yes, if you are talking about million €, sudenly veyron seems to be great oportunity. My oppinion is that the car should be bought by someone who already owns most of Lambo models and this is a final tuouch to his colection, or that you are a real good investor- and you bet on its value in the future. Otherwise, I don't see any good reason to buy this "jet fighter."

P.s. Front part is the weakest part of the car, they could do it much much better, but i suppose they were in a hurry for IAA!
