First of all I would like to thank everyone that attended. I really appreciate your continued support!!! Now that I have said that, I just wanted to say this, AMAZING EVENT! When I say it could not have gone any better, it is an understatement. The weather held off for some excellent runs, had some great times with great people, met lots of new people, and best of all, we were able to raise over $3000 in Toys and Cash for Toys for Tots. The Marines themselves said that this was one of the most successful events that they have ever participated in. They were not expecting nearly as much as we were able to raise. Again, I really appreciate the fact that you guys still attended even with the POSSIBILITY of rain. I thank you for your continued support, and stay tuned for the next run this Spring. Do I hear the return of the Midnight Run????? Oops, did I say that?? ;)

I have very serious and bad news for all...

I got a msg from a friend of mine from NYC Highway Patrol - "I advise that there will be zero tolerance next time and any cars that are caught operating at that rate of speed (70 - 100 +) will be summonsed and towed and that arrests next time will be made for Wreckless Endangerment. We had 5 cars in brooklyn looking for them and 4 in staten island. Also tell them that whoever ran from us in the BMW when we stopped one of you will be getting the summons."

I took part in todays successful event. Way to go Keith.

I saw NO Cops in Queens or Brooklyn. I guess those 4 in Staten Island should have left Dunkin Donuts a little quicker since there was traffic on the VZ Bridge , backed up to mid span. The only cops spotted by the car I was in, were in Jersey. A couple of Troopers and a Town Cop!!

I did hear(rumor) a story at one of the stops about a BMW being pulled over by a NYPD Unmarked. Reason for the stop. The cop wanted to know what the event was!!!! He also found it weird that the other cars left the ONE participant to be pulled over solo!! No Ticket was issued I believe. As I stated....this was the rumor!!!!

There was more unmarked vehicles then you think.

All I'm trying to say is that they are tired of this and I want to warn you so there will be no problems in future.

I am not taking it out on you Lukas. I am sure everyone appreciates the "heads up". But for the most part.... everyone driving is a "grown up"!! No, I dont condone running from or racing away from a Car Stop. If you get caught be prepared to deal with it! And I assure you if the cops really wanted to find anyone in the caravan this morning, they could have. Motorola is alot faster then any car that was there today!!!! Any portion of the road could have been shut down before we blinked. I've done it, I know!! But just as we sit here telling stories about the cops we got away from, they sit back and tell the same (fantasy) stories of how many "Exotics" they caught today!!! Thats why I run with the Exotics...... Hopefully the cops arent gonna bother me in my "Lil Chevy"!!!!!!! But today , I rode "*****" and played photographer since JT is in Vegas!!!!!!

Again....thanks for the warning. But lets not take away from the fact that KEITH put together a successful event!!!!!!!!!!

Did see the marked NYC HWY car cruising along with us on the Cross Island and onto the beginning of the Belt. Next one I saw was actually standing outside on the side the 'bridge' before exit 11 (Belt Pwky) utilizing what looked like laser...Pretty sneaky, sis..

I only saw one cop at the end on rt 18..:eeps:.. I had a hunch he was going to pull out and pull me over so I didn’t stick around to find out and dipped off the main road for lil bit, then regrouped. I usually always stay at the beginning of the pack in the first leg of the run.... the cops are usually "sleeping" and don’t realize what’s happening until a good bunch of us have whizzed by, but regardless im not going to start a "how to build a bomb" manual about pulling a fast one on police. That’s certainly not my aim. I’m trying to say that everyone has to be more conscious about what and who is around them before they decide to do some nasty passing or sick sprinting. Avoid taking these risks whenever possible and be careful and understanding that there will be a time when you will not get the benefit of the doubt. It’s already happened to a bunch of us a few times over im sure. We all have to take a page from Alex Roy's new book "The Driver" (in stores now.... hehe)

That being said great run Keith. There will always be the guy but for the most part everyone was safe and courteous.

    Guys.

Don't let a great event and thread degrade into a street racing, run from the cops, neener neener thread.

You all know the rules here.

Keep it on topic about the event, and not about any activities that might lead to problems for users here.

    Thanks,

    Dave

I saw that "DIP" and was wondering ......WHAT THE HELL. Cause you didnt do it until about a mile after the cop. He had never pulled out. We actually thought we missed the road for the restaurant when you did that!!!
    No harm no foul!!!

Thanks. I totally agree. Before doing anything crazy, people should be aware of what is around them and be able to see a great distance in front of them.
