WOW - ALMS for 2008 is definitely headed to be Ferrari dominated. Steve Pruitt will be entering his Corsa Motorsports 430 (with Hankook tires), Risi will have their two, PWL will have their's and possibly an additional car, and Tafel just sold their '07 Porsche 997's and rumor has it the replacement will be two 430's. That could have the potential of SEVEN F430's running GT2. Their competition will be the Lizards Porsches, Rahal Porsche, a couple other Porsches, Panoz and a Ford GTR (no worry there).

It will be a great season.

Are the Ford GTR's the race version of the Ford GT's? Just trying to be sure what will be running. Also will the Maseratti MC12's be back for next season to actually give the Corvette team a run for it's money in GT1? I'll be attending the Houston GP again this year, had a great time walking through the pits and watching the race last year and can't wait to do it again.

Pratt & Miller Corvettes to run GT1 as they develope a LMP car for 2009. Riley Tech will build up to 4 GT2 Corvettes. Gigolotti looks to have bought the first 2. Porshe is selling the RS Spyder to customers in Europe.

And yes Andreas, it is the best in America, as in the Americas, as in North and South. You should get out of your shell and join us this year. Just a short hop to Mid-Ohio. ;)

I prefer the Canadian and Brazilian GPs. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a GT race in my "backyard" at Road America one of these days. But I wouldn't spend big bucks on travel for it.

Yes, I heard that there will also be Corvettes in GT2. Makes for interesting racing. Although I love the corn on the cob sold at Road America, Mid-Ohio is probably the best spectator TRUE road course in the Americas. Having said that, I have not been to Interlagos which seems to have excellent course viewing from the stands.

But then, can you drink the water?

missing you since I am not doing GrandAm anymore.
I am trying to put some sponsorship together for a GrandAm Daytona Entry. I bought one of the Nuzzi GrandAm Mini Coopers and tested it. Loved it and want to have some fun :)

False alarm... I got down there and found they had bought a "test mule" Ford GT and I was adding the MoTeC logger to it for the customers to track and practice with to get used to the characteristics and dynamics of the base car... Doran is still building the "real deal" GTR and we should take delivery this winter... This was the closest I had gotten to the Ford GT, (disassembled) and I have to say this setup has real potential in '08...

Last race of LMS 07 season is this weekend in Brazil. Another big GT2 class with Ferrari, Porsche, Spykes entries. In 1st Practice - JMB 430's 2nd, 4th, 5th; GPC 430 was 7th. In 2nd Practice - JMB was 3rd, 4th & 5th; GPC was 9th.

Promises to be a great 11 hour race.

Several team's driver lineups, tires, crew, car, aren't finalized just yet.

Hankook has zero experience with the American Le Mans Series.

Doran Racing is building the Ford GTRs. Doran Racing has won the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the Superflo Twelve Hours of Sebring, and the Watkins-Glen 6 hours with Yokohama tires (all three in 1998...only team to ever win all three in same year).

You know why they call the 1/4 pounder a Royal in France don't you? It's the metric system.

A new sequential gearbox is on the way for the new 911 GT3 RSR.

Hartmut Kristen is the head of Porsche Motorsport.

"Says Kristen: with the increased wheelbase, crankcase versus gearbox input shaft angularity increases. Heat increases. The new gearbox will relocate the output shafts, lower the center of gravity, reduce the angularity, and equate to a horsepower increase due to reduced friction and reduced heat."

    Le Big Mac.

Metric rocks! The French invented it. The original yardstick for the meter is in Paris.

more good news for Ferrari - Peugeot wins and also wins the title - can't wait for the Essen Motor Show to see what Dr. Ullrich has to announce about Audi and LMS for 2008

Driver line up in 2008 will be interesting as there are three LMS & ALMS races that conflict with each other.

Not impressed by Peugeot. They've got $$$$, even better drivers, and barely beat Pescarolo in the LMP1 points due to lack of reliability.

    Plus, the rules favor diesels.
