One of the reasons print classifieds don't work anymore. By the time it's printed and hits the end user ... it's gone!

All you have to do is talk to Joe if you want to get on the inside track. Joe always has his ear to the ground! Joe when you are listening which is louder, Lamborghini or Ferrari?

Due to this one being a very rare F40, having only 1,353 miles. Also must have had an exceptionally good history with that. Less then 80 miles per year of its existence. . . .

A few points if I may:

88374 was the 122nd F40 built to USA spec of 211 cars. Right in the middle of production.

211 cars is not an ultra-rare limited series, but clearly it is rare enough to support these numbers.

A fair few F40s in the USA have below 1,500 miles. In fact Id say that half the cars that are appearing for sale have simlar miles, or even much less, and we have seen 877 miles, 762 miles, 672 miles, 655 miles, 465 miles, 405 miles and even 155 miles recently. Dont ask me why: I guess the owners like them SO much that they cant resist driving them! LOL :)

This car didnt have any special history or famed first owner other than being exceptionally well-cared for and detail-prepared for shows and concours.

80 miles per year? In the summer of 1998, I drove my previous F40 2,000 miles. Disgraceful... clearly I was young and foolish.

No, clearly you were using the car as it should be and enjoying a piece of automotive art. Good effort.

Crazy with the mileage. So sad.

This car was seen at the factory in April, 1991. Offered for sale in April, 2002, by Karam automotive with 1,062 miles. Then in June, same year, it was offered for sale by Algar, with 1,100 miles. It was purchased from Algar, same year, by a gentleman in New Jersey. It's only been driven 253 miles in five years. :(

I agree... It's very sad that someone would own a car like a F40 and not enjoy it the way Enzo intended. These cars were made for true enthusiasts, not someone trying to make a few bucks.

So of the 211 built to USA specs, at least 7 are likely to have under 1,000 miles. That's unfortunate. I understand collectors who like to keep theirs as collectable as possible. However, I see that some may be missing the true passion and joy the car is meant to carry. I can't imagine how fun it must be to have to worry about keeping one of these 7 "untouched". And Joe, clearly that must have been a blast! Don't tell me those 2,000 miles weren't worth it.;)

I will never forget those 2,000 miles all in one long hot summer :)

But I assure you, MANY more than just 7 USA F40s have less than 1,000 miles, for better or for worse.

Joe, can you tell me the serial number of the F40 you used to own, when you got it, when you sold it and the subsequent mileage in between...?
