I want to send a bottle of tequilla to a friend in california.. Only problem is I've been told that no alcohol can be shipped (ground).. Then was told private citizens can't ship alcohol..(ground) unless you have a liquor license.. anyone else ever encounter such "rules".. how does one send booze for holidays.. I understand wine can be shipped but not alcohol.

I didn't know where to post hope off topic is ok...if not mods please move..

You can try it. If it was going across the boarder you run the risk of the bottle being destroyed. Inside the US? Just package it tightly and slap on the sticker. You still run the risk of it being broken but you'll never go to jail or be fined etc.

I'm in USA so no border issues.. but I was told it's a federal felony..& if caught 30k fine..
I work with someone who once worked for usps and she said any suspicious packages design, bundle are "shaken" & set aside for further inspection.

Psssshhh! If the feds haul you off in the middle of the night, say you didn't know.

You could also put a return address on it from say across town with Carlos Pisa's name and a quick search of Craigslist will give you a street address and postal code for the package.

As for the design, use a freakin' box. lol Wrap the bottle in plastic, fill the box and send the flammable liquid to your friend.

You clearly know the rules and regs for this, go ahead and send it.

If caught say "My team leader on Battle Field 2 said I needed to send this to him in order to stay on Squad 1, The other squads are filled with NooB b****es that don't even have VOIP mics and keep blowing themselves up with their rocket launchers".

Last Christmas, I shipped 10 bottles of scotch. I get a call from UPS stating that one the bottles broke and since it was alcohol, they had to sieze the shipment. I did have the option to have somebody pick it up in 48 hours. I think I got an FChatter to pick up the shipment. It was a decent booty of booze!

I've had a bunch of alcohol shipped to me one time from a online site. The only restriction on the shipment was that it had to be signed for by someone 21+, the shipping delivery guy carded me at my door. I'll search my old emails for the name of the site.

Thanks everyone.. I really appreciate the responses. I think the best thing to do is buy from the site Chevy Chase posted. I'm in law enforcement and they would love to make an example of me, if caught. Much the same way the IRS would go after a CPA..
    Thanks again..
