I was out cruising the backroads of western Howard County today, and what shows up in my review mirror but a Ford GT in full Gulf blue/orange. I was hoping to find a spot to pull over and have a chat with the owner, but he turned off before I got to a suitable spot. Anybody know him? That was one nice looking car (but I bet it doesn't sound as good as mine).

I assume the car looked like this one in the pic below.
This one was at the FOW Summit Point event in October.
Owner lives in north-western part of Virginia, so probably not the same car (but you never know, could be the same one).

Well the main question then would be: Did it have a large 5 on the side?

Really cool car nonetheless, the one at Summit was signed by Shelby himself!

There is a heritage edition GT in the Clarksville/River Hill area.

It didn't have a number 5 on it (at least that I remember). Based on where I saw it, it was probably the Gaithers Farm car...

Not to disrespect Mr. Shelby or any owner that had him sign their car...but I heard that Mr. Shelby signs a bunch of cars (so long as you give to one of his charities). So I'm not sure if it's a rare sighting to see a car with his Autograph. Here's a picture I took for a 427 back in March at a FCA-MAR event. I'm sure if Mr. Ferrari was around today there would be people trying to get his autograph on their cars! I would donate to whatever charity he wants to get his autograph.

I think there's at least two Gulf-colored GTs in the Columbia/Clarksville area. One of them has #3 on it and showed up for a Howard County group drive earlier this year. The owner of the other one coincidentally saw us at the starting point while driving by (not in his GT) and stopped to chat for a few minutes.

I know of yet another heritage edition in Potomac.

It seems we've got a bunch around here.

try using the doors, best means of entrance, unless they are rather beastly, then the trunk will have to do.

Sorry 'bout that. It was a cheap shot. However, at the risk of reviving the issue, I totally understand sentiment. My wife rather frowns upon my automotive activities. Its hard to enjoy this stuff from her perspective, having the 3 kids and all. That's why I normally take at least 1 of my girls with me. And I'm proud that my eldest daughter has taken a liking to the car stuff. She comes on my photoshoots, takes pictures and draws cars. We have alot of fun together.

I think the resolution would be to suceed enough to get a Ferrari. Then she'll see the light. But then again, that means that I would have to let her drive....

First step will be to get a set of seat belts for the front of my 64 Lincoln. I need to figure out how to put shoulder belts in the back.
    regards

    ken

I saw a Heritage GT this afternoon on Rt 216 near Clarksville. First time I've seen that combo in real life and I like it so much more than the photos I've seen.

If the driver is reading this - I was the one in the M3 convertible. Thanks for the wave. Nice to see you're still driving it as the weather cools down!
