confirmed what tell Mr. Kidston!the owner don't want to pubblicized it! .........As for Kidston's claims as to a $2m+ SVJ, I will leave it to him to state publicly what and when. Until then, and until its verified, its just a claim. The last SVJ I sold brought a well-documented $1.5 million - Miura SVJ 4892, which I sold this past July 2007. Joe www.joesackey.com[/QUOTE]
your a bit out on the conversion Roy. i make £205,000 GBP to be roughly $430,500 USD (i use http://www.xe.com/ucc)
Vasco, I did say something... "OK". Sounds good to me. Nothing special but a bit pricey for a P400. BTW thats the hammer price before auction fees, and the conversion rate sure has changed in one week! LOL. Joe www.joesackey.com
Oh brother! Here we go again... confirmed by who? You? Just want to clarify.... Joe www.joesackey.,com
I'd have no reason to argue that, but I don't think I was making such a claim. These are prices I've been quoted as "asking prices". I heard of one recently which has an ask of close to $1.1 million (not mine). Again, I'm only hypothesizing here about the price spreads between buyer and seller, and whether it adds to the price confusion. It's easier to do the math on $1,000,000 than on $869,000, and I'm lazy like that. In hindsight, I should probably have done it on $100, as it was merely an exercise. Personally, I think they are worth less than they are currently trading for, but I think that about most of the car prices I see today. I am hoping for a crash, so this euphoria can die down - it's making things too expensive. [edit] Starting raindance now!
OK I understand your point. But even on an ask basis, no SV has ever asked $1m that Im aware of. Not one that is seriously for sale at any rate. There wont be a "crash", but rather a "pull-back" which is already in full effect for anything less the cream of the crop. Up or down, deals still happen. When values are down you can pick up some neat stuff. When values are up, you can sell at great numbers. There is a time to buy, and a time to sell. You have to be able to read the market accurately and act accordingly. Joe www.joesackey.com
Hi Joe, Following your previous picture, I've finally found some of the pics (24x36 sildes at the time...) I shot at the 1987 Retromobile Motorshow in Paris. It was precisely in February 1987, and on the Ciclet's stand : a Miura S + its engine exposed, and also the one-off Flying Star. (Sorry for the poor quality of the scans I've made from the original dias...) a short translation from a lamborghini-book i own; nice text, what do u think? hope i didnt make too many mistakes x)
At Turin in 1965 journalists were sure this was a chassis for the following year's Le Mans with which Ferruccio was to settle old scores with Enzo.... Joe www.joesackey.com
Joe, I took a quick look at the site.......was the original owner of this car Walter Wolf, the Canadian? Neil
No. The original owner was Bertone SpA & Automobili Lamborghini jointly held for showcar purposes. Then it was purchased by ILZRO/Shrade Radtke who brought it into its ZN75 configuration in collaboration with Automobili Lamborghini & Bertone SpA. Bertone SpA is collaborating with Bobileff in the car's restoration back to the " Lamborghini Bertone Miura Roadster" of the 1968 Brussels Salon. On the eve of that 1968 show Ferruccio Lamborghini saw what Nuccio Bertone haad come up with for the first time. Witnesses say he was gobsmacked in anticipation of a limited run of Miura Spyders. Bertone's response to the twinkle in Ferruccio's eye was: "Dont even think about it!" (rigidity issues with a production version - they went through a few windscreens on the one-off in development due to flex) Joe www.joesackey.com
Now there's a word you don't see every day. LOL!! Too bad the box-section frame is a little "loosey-goosey" for an open car.
Which is odd considering the targa style of the car. Usually targas are stiffer than their fully convertible counterparts... Would have worked as a "T-top"...
