I only know Patrick Ottis by reputation, but he is one of the "golden" names for Ferrari drive-trains.

This must be one of the 550's at FJ!
They are tight with Patrick and he is very well respected in N. Cal.
Good luck with the deal, I have had good dealings with FJ if thats the seller. Good folk.

Mr. Ottis has an excellent knowledge of Ferraris.
He is honest, reliable and very nice.
You will not find a person as competent to look at your car, except for Brian Crall.

.....helped me find and worked on my 330 GTC for years.

But I don't know that he has any interest / expertise on "modern" cars. His shop is usually filled with TR 250's, 500 Superfast's, 410 SA, and the like.
Brian Crall is more attuned to 550's / 360's etc.

It was one of the cars at FJ however I had them looked at this weekend by some W Coast car pals and they
seem to have a few ingredients missing so I think I have found another car...

Brian Crall is a better choice for a PPI, especially when Fantasy Junction is invlolved in the transaction.

Marc don't forget the recalled Magnesium 5-spokes. I believe the 1997's were affected. If you're unsure, have someone look at the back of the spokes through the barrel and if they are concave, they are fine. If they aren't, the dealer should replace 'em.

If the car you're looking at has Modulars like ours, make sure they aren't leaking (around the bolts).
    Joe

PS, drove it a tiny bit yesterday with my buddy marc, MABF355... too much fun. :)

Patrick has a man with experience in modern Ferraris.
He has been with Patrick for 7,8 maybe more years.
    You will not be disappointed.

Larry Buskirk is another Northern California Ferrari drivetrain wizard. He was with Griswold Motors way back when they were still around in Berkeley. His shop is up in Novato now. Larry has a similar shop to Patrick where you see everything from a 275GTB to a 575. Lots of concours set ups done by Larry.
