I think it could have been done on the SV's chassis... but thats history now.

yes because the actual part that can flex is smaller.
still not ideal though - to work properly a convertible (certainly on older designs) needs to be purpose designed or heavily braced.

wouldnt have looked as good though

out of interest do you know if they're planning any extra (and unseen) mods to help the chassis rigidity when they have it all apart for restoration

No because the car will be much lighter without all the zinc doo-dads and Bertone already stiffened this Miura's chassis.

The current SCM article on Miura SVs suggests that they are of similar value to Ferrari 275 GTB/4s or Daytona Spyders.... Im not arguing that point.

Here is 4882, a car I have known for near on 15 years, that David Gooding auctioned off for $869,000. Its a standard SV.

The small-rear-tire P400 and P400S are gorgeous cars, in the way Kiera Knightly is a gorgeous woman, despite her inability to fill a t-shirt... the SV, on the other hand, is Jessica Biel... sure, I'd love to drive either one, but I know which one I want...

    Brian,

    The mufflers are 'hollowed-out' :)

Think of a wall of sound: the gearbox sounds like a dentist's drill, the carburettors sound like a whistling kettle over-boiling, and the exhausts (oh the exhausts) sound like nothing youve heard at full chat.

"One Hundred Thousand Howling Dogs from Hell" describes the Miura's engine at full throttle I heard someone say...

This "Kiera Knightly" has enough "internals" to outrun your "Jessica Biel" in every corner!! But...-as an ex-PLAYBOY-photographer- I can only say that the later (but real-one) would suit my personal taste....!

    Ciao!
