Reading John Corbani's thread just now reminded me that I need to do something about the seats in my 206GT. It's been off the road for a while having the engine done.
As John mentions the seats are useless in fast cornering, so I want to replace them with something better. My memories of Daytona seats are that they're not great either but it's been a long time since I drove one with standard seats.
Any experiences of classic race seats that fit and won't look out of place in the Dino? I'd recover them in Dino style so the material is unimportant.
Or maybe the Daytona seats are better than I remember?

I contacted GTS and they no longer do the Targa Florio pattern unfortunately. Some of the others look reasonable but not quite so right.

No problem, you can get the same (even better) in Italy.
Contact Roberto Cassetta (robycass at tin.it), tell him Tryfon sent you.

Thanks. I'm in touch with Roberto about Stratos bits so I'll ask him.
I guess you have a Stratos too?
Mine's a Gp4 modified for Ian Giles back in the early 80's. We've just done a fresh engine since he destroyed the last one in S Africa some years ago.

I have daytona style seats in my dino.

I find them extremely comfortable, better than the modern seats in my porsche for longer drives.

I got them from Matt at re-originals. Not cheap, but wonderful quality, and if you buy a solid pattern instead of the alternating black/tan they would look great in an older 206.

I paid around $6K as I recall four years ago. That was a pair of finished seats ready to bolt in.

    I think they're closer to $8K now.

Thanks for that, i called into Superformance today and they have just received a sample of new leather seats, door panels and rear bulkhead. Very good quality too.

All you will need is a good car trimmer to remove the old and recover in the new ones. Am i tempted......you bet

Not sure on price though, i am sure if they get enough interest they will get them made with typical Superformance prices to match.

$3600, less than half the current price. As long as they were stored carefully, that's one hell of a deal!

Last year, I paid around $1400 to have mine refoamed and recovered in glove-soft leather by a place here in town. That's really looking like a good deal!

It was close, but not a perfect match. I'll get the other panels done at some point. Much better leather than original. Since I had it done, the car has won two awards in two outings. I'll post some pics. This is a driver car, not a show / garage queen.
