LTNZ site says that there were a few Bugattis registered new here last year so maybe there already is???
the gentleman who owns the Carrera GT that normally resides at CCS has/ had a Bugatti on order i think. Who would service the car? Volkswagen? Look interesting parked next to a Golf tdi.
Service the car!! He could just fly the mechanics in from Bugatti and still be cheaper then the local VW dealer
The "Bugatti" mechanics ARE from VW!! Its virtually the same engine as a VW Phaeton, VW Toureg, Bentley Continental, Audi W12, just with more hair dryers and more boost. Plus, it sounds like an Electrolux.
I assume so. I havn't heard much activity on it other than his outing at the Pukekohe track a few years ago (something i regretfully missed )
nope it aint giltrap. this was at CCS...... the gentleman with the CGT is in the import business i think, usually lives in Hong Kong or something.
Out and about yesterday, spotted this..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool. I'm falling more in lolve with your 355 with every new picture.. Might be seeing NZ's only 288 GTO in December if all goes to plan!
Thank you! I'm just a little in love with my 355 too, its totally filthy in that pic, bugs and dust galore. The 288GTO is in my top 3 Ferrari's ever made, i am yet to see one in the metal but i hope that i might be lucky enough to catch up with the kiwi one in the near future.
Come on Jeff, just cos its been changed from the way they made it in your mother land ..........oh wait, no, hmmmm, yeah ok, you do have a point, ohh what do i know, its a leopard right? (see what 37 hrs with no sleep does to me ) Seriously though, i spoke to the owner, he used the hubs from a xj6 to convert to 5 stud, apparently the spokes on the old rims were stuffed and it worked out cheaper to go with alloys. I think the extra cash may have been worth it on this occasion. Also spotted a cayman (sp?) on the weekend, strange look car those, i haven't made up my mind on them yet.
go and drive one... AMAZING car to drive. Beautifully balanced. Far to underpowered but it would KILL 911 volume if it came stock with more HP. Ugly but.
Chrome wires, creaking leather, warm essence of oil......those were the days Cayman rear is really butt ugly!
Ah yes, that sickening feeling when you're committed to the corner and suddenly the front end washes out. Jim Richards of course, would instantly and momentarily wind off lock to regain grip then turn in again and make it through unscathed. Easy to say, hard to do.
Just to say big thanks to all who organised the run yesterday and the lunch...40 cars together....fantastic! Cheers
Cool pic Aaron! It makes me wonder where I will put my numberplate when I purchase my 355.. Would love to see pics of yesterday's meet!
