Getting some squealing issues with the pads on an 07.

As per SF's advice, we chamfered the pads on the sharp edges and re installed, but the squealing has not reduce significantly.

    Anyone having similar experiences ?

Did you grease the backs of the pads?

I fail to see the humor.
If you do not apply a thin coat of bearing grease to the backs of the pads, what will happen is that, when the pistons start to apply pressure to the pad, it kind of "settles in" as it starts pushing against the rotor. This settling (essentially a high speed ocillation) causes a "chatter" which, at a very high frequency, sounds like squealing. Some brake pad manufacturers supply a thick piece of adhesive backed paper to stick on the backs of the pads. The problem with this approach is that the piston eventually wears through the paper.

If the chamfer doesnt work I have also used a hack saw blade to cut a light grove in the center. You may have seen pads cut like this before. Are factory shims available for that model? Them shims that are added to the back are a softer metal to absorb vibration. You may need to burnish the rotors when you chamfer the pads and let everything reseat.

If brake shims are not available there is an adhesive that can be used that works very very well. I have used a product from Wurth before with exceptional results. It sprays on leaving a sticky and soft coating on the backside of the pads that combats the vibration that leads to brake squeal. I have found that grease does not work very well because it wears away quickly and can run onto the braking surface contaminating the brake pads.

You failed to see the humour because there wasn't any there. Don't really install pads w/o grease.... I guess u didn't read the part after 'lol' ?

Nuvolari, I will check a dealer for shims and consider machining a groove into the pad. SF was pretty sure the chamfer would've solved it 100%... but it just didn't work out 100%.
