Badoer: TC ban will separate men from boys Wednesday 14th November 2007 Planet F1 Luca Badoer claims F1 is more enjoyable when driver aids such as traction control are prohibited and lauded Michael Schumacher's pace in testing. Teams taking part in the winter testing at Barcelona are running cars free of technology that makes driving easier. And Ferrari's test driver believes that this will make racing more of a challenge. "The F1 cars had become too easy: if a new guy came in and did some good lap times, a star was born," Badoer told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Now, by contrast, they are harder, so more enjoyable: you need sensitivity and capability in managing the throttle. "Of course, by the end of winter we'll lap on the same times as this year, but we'll see the difference between who is truly good and the rest." Schumacher topped the time sheets on his return to the cockpit of the Prancing Horse, but the 26-year-old Italian was not surprised at the seven-time World Champion's performance. "I'm not surprised, I know him, he is a superhero," he added. "Everybody knows he is the fastest driver in the world, so I don't see what upsets that can cause. "Raikkonen is quick too, but Schumi in his career has demonstrated to be something else."
...I like this guy!...even Michael has Thanked him in the past afterwinning, saying "...the Test team and Luca Badoer..." Ive always thought he is a great driver, he´s very dedicated, technicaly and mechanicaly oriented, so poised with his job, and has a "son" status at Maranello...Italian, Ferrari F1 Test Driver...and earns 3 million Euro a year. ...If you are not at the track driving an F1 car, it doesnt get any better for a driver...
Does anyone remember the race that Badoer was about to finish 4th in with the Minardi and the car had an Engine Failure with about 2 laps to go? The guy was sitting there gutted and crying, but what a race he had. I was like Badoer, and appreciate his comments.
actually, i was dissapointed as hell. i wanted so badly for a Ferrari driver to get the WDC title that year. then came the pitstops, my dad was screaming frantically, something's wrong something's wrong...
...Ferrari wont the constructors that year...that was all the confort I needed, but I sure remember Luca crying...then after Malasya I had to fear for the title cause the damn barge boards were meassured incorrectly... that was a though year for Ferrari
