Team Mondial and friends I am going to take the plunge in my old age and learn how to build a Website. So, I thought it might be fun to do a small site on the Ferrari Mondial. Nothing fancy -- just very basic, functional and bringing something to the Mondial community. I was thinking of doing it as a registry with the info from the other thread, with history, model identification, parts and maintenence section, scale models and photos. Also, if anyone wanted to contribute stuff pertaining to the sections we could add it. Any advice before I get started on this? I've never done this before so expect I know zippo. thanks
Hey Russ, I believe you're going to have one swell time doing a site based on a true passion of yours. Best of luck with it. I'll be watching closely If you would like any pics of my Rachel, I'll send hi res via your regular email address. Have fun Cheers, Hank
Hi Russ. good idea!! I was owner of www.dinogt4register.com in the past. Very much fun, but A LOT OF work to keep it updated. When I sold the gt4 I stopped. Didn't had the guts to start a register for the Mondial. If I can help with something please let me know.
Russ: Great idea. Even better that it's you doing, instead of me. When you get it up and running, please let me know. F430 is being serviced, so I'm driving the t on a regular basis now. Cheers, Art
Russ, Wow! Wish you luck. I don't have much experience, but I have a buddy who maintains websites and does web work, so I can always ask questions on your behalf. Let me know if I (or my buddy) can help! Bob
Hi, I'm not a Ferrari owner yet but I am currently looking for a Mondial convertible. I'll be book marking your site. I have done a few websites, it is not difficult to do a simple page. The problem is when you get fancy, adding flash, etc. The easiest way of starting is by using the free templates available from your web host provider. I use www.ipowerweb.com for my websites. Once you get a hang of it, you can then use a program like Dreamweaver for a more profesional look. It uploads the pages for you automatically. And if you are really brave, you can write it in html for the fun of it. Good luck! Email me if you have any questions. Cheers Richard
I think its a wonderful undertaking that your considering. I wish you the best and if I can help in any way let me know. I am not a computer literate but I have a ton of useful links that could be added to the site. I'd also be glad to help if you need photos or Mondial documents. I think your site might become a quite large (memory eating) document(s). I'm sure we all have stuff to add and alot of pix. You may consider having a inexpensive fee (a couple of bucks) to help defray the cost of maintaining the webspace. A free one is a good thing to but you may be limited on how much we can jamb into it. Go for it, Dave
Thanks everyone for all the offers of support - I am sure I will need it! I've reserved and paid for: www.MondialRegistry.org I am planning to model it somewhat after Robert Retzlaff's 308 GTB sie aswell as the classy 356registry.org site. I've sent a note to BuzzM to ask if I could use his Mondial Registry info off the Mondial Registry thread here at FChat. So far the pages I am working on are: Home History Registry Service Photos Contact If anyone would like to write any supporting documents, I'll be happy to credit you - especially about servicing or anything you think would be interesting to the group. I do not know how to do thumbnail photos that link to larger shots yet, but I am hoping that is what the photo section turns out to be. Give me a little time, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
Russ, If you want Hot Girls jumping on beds as a background for your site................then Birdman is your designer.
Great job, SNJ5. I just visited the site, and I'm reading the history. Keep up the good work! Check 6. /s/ Alfonso
Wow. Thanks to everyone for the amazing support. I've also gotten some PMs I've been going through today which are even more amazing. This will definitely be a 'work in progress' as I add, revise and edit over the next few months in my spare time. Once I get the basic stuff down, I'll be doing some very Mondial specific stuff like the fusebox, STCorsa A/C vent, starter relay mod and others...and of course our favorite topic, TRX wheel replacements. Please let me know if anyone has MONDIAL SPECIFIC parts or services, as I'll post them for everyone. I'll try to have some of the parts and service manuals online as well; I have them as .pdf so will figure out a download or something. We'll also have a sponsor page as I've already received some unsolicited VERY generous offers. Again, many thanks!!
Hi Russ, under "contact us" there is your emailadres ending with .com Am I right this has to be .org? I tried to send you a mail to .com and it comes back as "Unrouteable address"
