Miura, the original supercar

I loosely remember his quote: "People who want to be famous drive Ferraris, but people who ARE famous drive Miuras"

 

I believe it was more in the lines that "If you want to be somebody, you buy a Ferrari. When you are someone you buy a Lamborghini"

 

If I remember right, the conversation went like this:

"A Lamborghini? ... and what a horrid interior!"

"Hey Pal, I did it MYYYYYYYY WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!"

 

Swiss car, 4908?

 

There was also another yellow SV, once owned by ILOC member Dr. Urs Blum in the eighties, it has a chromed sebring mirrors, but unfortunately I don't know the Vin of that car. #4886 was exported to the Netherlands. 5052 is in Japan, these are the only yellow swiss SV's I know.
Then I got a picture from Marcel de Lange showing these other SV with the mirrors on the doors, that's perhaps the car you found, I know that there is somewhere in the Zurich region a SV with a broken engine, but the owner did never want to sell it but had also no money to fix it.

I shot this one in march 2006 in the Palexpo Museum just close to the Geneva Motorshow Halls :
(no possibility at the time to get the chassis number...)

Very interesting thread. As a great Miura enthusiast I much enjoy reading each post.

Can someone tell me the chassis number of the white Miura SV displayed next to the ex Mimran Miura S/N 4088 at the Garage R. Affolter in Porrentruy? The same white Miura SV is also shown in post #2540 from Joe.

The Lamborghini Miura, Geneva 1966. This exquisite expression of mobile sculpture, had a style and masculine grace never seen before; some critics declared that it had reached an esthetic pinnacle that never would be matched. A cursory glance at the stuff cluttering highways today suggests they may have been right.

5074 1972 30740 Fly Yellow/ White Black Prod. #742. 27 July 1972. To Foitek.
Delivered to Foitek
1972-First owner Mr Scherter (Austria).
1980s- Owned by Sheikh al-Thani (Qataar/Geneva).
1984-88- Restored at Lamborghini factory, now white/white & black leather.
2000- Owned by Swiss collector, 3500km since restoration.

 

Yep saw that car while in Italy a few months back...posted pics of it then...was at the new EB take over factory looks good...
