    At 28 -- drove a 1981 Gold 308
    At 35 -- joined FCA
    At 40 -- bought a 1986 Red 328 -- best decision I ever made!

What are you thinking as your second Fcar mate? :):)

I went for a 360, but didnt get the deal I wanted, so I bailed on that deal. :):)
I watched the Ferrari factory doco last night on tv, I think I will just wait another 10 years and get me a 599. :D:D

TOO many Ferraris.............not enough money. :p:p

I don't typically disclose my age as I hate to be looked down upon for it, but I'm the youngest in the thread so far that has personally posted, those who have seen me at the TX/OK meets have a rough idea I'm sure.

One thing to take into consideration is we have very little overhead. Most of us are single with no children so we can afford one on a smaller income. If I had a family owning one would not be possible. Counting a $1,200 F355 payment and a $1,600 mortgage (Oklahoma Real Estate helps as well) my monthly expenses rarely exceed $4,500.

PAP leave the 360 alone. Go for a 355 if you are going to add another. Of course unless you can get a 360CS.

I want a F430 because I just love that look. So that is where I am headed.

At the end of the day everybody calls me a malaka here but there just jealous!!!

    430 here we come!!!

Well, I dont really want a 360, but it is all I can afford. I just have a Ferrari "bug" I guess.I want another.......now! Cant afford 360CS or 430 yet either. :):)
The only 355 I would get is a 355CH. Maybe one day, if not, no problem either. :):)

I may just wait and get a 360CS, 430 or 599 in the next 10 years or so. :):)
I will also get me a nice 308QV one day. I just LOVE this/our Ferrari styling. :):)

Would be nice. But they are still commanding huge dollars here in Aus. :):)
I can budget around AU$200K for a nice 360 at the moment, thats about it. :):)
Cheapest 550 I have seen was around AU$250K. Was a nice car too. :):)

I honestly am better off buying another house and waiting 10 or so years before I get another Ferrari. I eventually want to own 3 Ferraris. My 348, a 308 and a 'newer' Ferrari. I love the 512BB, Testarossa ect.........but as mentioned, too many Ferraris, not enough money. Some people are really lucky to own so many nice Ferraris and have the choice to drive anyone of them on any paticular day they like. God bless em. :):)

I can see how the Ferrari bug has grown on you.

Same here and especially every time I drive it the bug gets worse and more worse.

I just have to have another one. And I want one NOW!!!!!

Yup, ain't that the truth! At one point, we were spending $1450 per month on day care expenses ALONE! Last year, when my son was sick, we spent the purchase price of my 308 on medical expenses. Aaaah, but I wouldn't give up my kiddos for any silly car... though there are days when I'd think about it... :)

    Very good post!

I am in the same situation; I have been told that at 26 I am the youngest person in NZ to own a Ferrari.
The reason I can afford it is I am single and my goal has always been Ferrari ownership. I invested in property at the right time and made good money on every step, my overheads are low and the only loan I have is for my property, I paid cash for the F-car as I have for my P-car and all my toys, it really is that simple. One step at a time.

My goal was P-car by 25 and F-car by 35, I got the Porsche at 23 and the Ferrari at 26, the important word in this sentence is GOAL, make sure you have one and make sure you are aware of it on a daily basis, when your in a shop looking at a new TV or motorbike, ask yourself, how will this affect my ability to achieve my goal, the answer needs to be honest.

    Nice post mate! :):)

I totally agree with setting goals. When I was 24yrs old, I set a goal to buy my 1st Fcar by 25yrs old. I bought my 1st Ferrari 3 months after my Bday. On my Bday would have been nice, but I was still looking for the right 348 for me, which I eventually found 3 months afterwards. :):) I have also set some goals for my property portfolio. Which is growing quite nicely I might add. ;);)

Setting realistic goals is very important for the "average joe". I am not at the level where I have cash laying around where I can go out and buy any Ferrari I want. I will have to set goals to be able to get my next Ferrari. I havent really set any goals as of yet, but when the time is right, I will do it and make it happen. :):)

Same Papster. I'm a bit older than you guys but I set a goal of buying my favourite F-car by 35 (308 as I grew up with magnum in NZ and I love those curves). Just made it in time. Now starting to get ahead and my next goal is an F40.

Your a lot younger than me Paps. your doing ok :) You'll get them all. We are almost like brothers. I like the old ones, but also just want one new one one day as well. (reminds me of the joke, to follow.)

I've got the 308 which is being rebuilt including roll cage to race. I just love the F40 which I have a spot in the garage for and I would like an F430.

    Now the joke.

    1 1 was a race horse and 2 2 was 1 2, 1 1 1 1 race and 2 2 1 1 2.

    Hope you get it.

Sounds sweet mate. 308, F40 and F430 would be a nice little collection. :):)
I have plenty of time to get the cars I want and more. Speaking of which, I just pulled the trigger on another property today. ;);)
There goes that 360 for another year or two. :p:p

Cool joke. I had heard that once before at work. :D:D

Starting with nothing: Ferrari 308 - Goal set at age 23 to own by age 35. Bought one at age 47.

Several ex-wives, massisve debt repayment one of them made in my name, another wife and still with her after 18 years, a kid (one; only one. I learned quickly how that happened.) and own a modest but nice house in a foreign country.

Many Ah-Sh_ts set my goals back but I never took my eyes off of them.
