No, I expect maybe 9-3 or 8-4 next year, and maybe 1 or 2 losses at the most the year(s) following. So my guess is that IF we lose the game next weekend that would be 'the bottom' for us. Good luck against Arkansas. Celebrate victory and not defeat.

That's funny, because no one else anywhere has even heard, written, or speculated as to such.

Frank, I'm worried about your health; the voices in your head seem to be getting louder. ;) Don't worry though: when Less leaves for Ann Arbor and LSU finds itself back in the middle of the SEC, I think the voices may subside a bit. ;)

I di hear it . I wrote in on a piece of paper and had the guy next to me read it out loud. :) And the only team headed to the middle of the SEC pack is Alabama but that news should make you happy since it is an improvement over the last 5 years. :) :)

A five year sting tastes a lot better than 50 years of mediocrity :D

Now your Alabama math skills come out. National Championship in 1958, National Championship in 2003, that's 44 in my book. And two of those years you beloved Saban was the coach. There were also 5 SEC championships in that span so I guess Alabama really sucked those years being less than mediocre and all, oh and 15 bowl wins also ( I didn't count the appearences). And after all that mediocrity I'd rather have a bad day in Tiger Stadium than a good day in Tuscaloser. :)

Sorry, I didn't look it up, but if you wanna split hairs over 6 years, by all means. 44 years it is.

So you're using those two years when Saban brought LSU back to contention as a slam? OH, I see, you're saying that LSU was going to be good anyway, without Saban.

    Sure.

Only Kentucky, Ol' Miss, Mississippi State and Vandy had less. I'd give you a little push and call that smack dab in the middle, yes?

    That's good!
I am proud of you for preparing yourself for the inevitable.

Bennett here is Les Miles on the Michigan Job Link http://wwl.com/Miles-has-a-heartfelt-decision-to-make/1232522

Here is the text of what all that Les Miles said about Michigan on Monday 11/19/07:

"I have to cover this other issue. A year ago this day we had to postpone this meeting because I was at a funeral where I buried a great friend and an old coach (Bo Schembechler.) I enjoyed the relationship I had with him and that school for years.. That is history. I was asked to promo a book to honor him and his memory. It's 'Bo's Lasting Lessons.' I did that as a specific favor to him and his wife. It was in no way meant to represent Michigan. It is just my history and a responsibility, a very loyal responsibility to that spirit and time."

"Coach (Lloyd) Carr, a great coach at Michigan, just retired. He has done it all. As an alumnus of that school, I am so happy that he was the coach. I am happy for the success he had and how he treated the players that wear the maize and blue. Those things can't change. But now, I have to say I am not talking jobs, don't look for jobs and don't want jobs. I have a great job. I love this place. This is a place where I am comfortable and my family is comfortable. Michigan has not called. It's unfair to Michigan to say that they should and it is unfair to me and my time. What I am doing is what you should be doing... let it rest. I am playing football for LSU. I am preparing for Arkansas. I am going to be ready for the next game and the game after that. I love this team. I would not do anything to hurt it."

"I don't want to talk about jobs and don't care about jobs. I don't want to involve myself in that thought process. It is counter-productive to preparation."

What kind of odds are you giving on LSU / Ole Miss 2003 :)

Word is Les will jump at the chance to go to Michigan which boggles my mind. OK he is an alum. He played there. I've been there. It's cold and gray in the winter. Detroit is not my idea of a city to live in or near. LSU is a first rate program. Southeastern Conference football is much better than Big 10 football.

His contract has a $500k penalty if he leaves early and a $1m penalty if he goes to Michigan according to a reporter on ESPN. It will cost MU mucho bucks to get this guy.

Everybody in the Southeast Conference (except LSU) should chip in and send this guy back to Michigan. LOL

Aside: Les Miles is a great name for a used car salesman. ;)

As to betting on games that have already happened: There are too many ways to make money for sure without making money maybe. :)

These KU MU Border War tickets are going for insane money. It is crazy. Just a word of advice, they are checking KU student ID's, so do not not buy a student ticket without having a KUID to back it up.

Thanks Frank, but you don't have to repost things here just to show them to me, I've already read this. I get my football information from many sources before posting here, and as a fan of the game you can be assured that I would read Less's statement, regardless of what teams you and I are fans of.

Did you catch what Spurrier said about LSU looking to hire him?

I just love Spurrier. He said (paraphrased) "we've lost four games in a row, why would I be getting a job offer from anyone, especially the number one team in the nation? I'm trying to KEEP my job, not look for a promotion."

And why haven't you lit into this thread on the Saban front? ESPN is making it sound like he thinks losing to ULM is the same as 9-11 and Pearl Harbor. That's not what he meant, and if you watch/ read the interview, it doesn't come out that way. But if you're in the media and your job is to twist things around, then he basically said "Alabama losing a football game is a tragedy that the world should mourn". Absurd.
I'm not saying he didn't stick his foot in his mouth, AGAIN. But it's been taken WAY out of context. His point was that when things go really bad, you find out who you are and whether or not you're going to fight the hard fight.
If it were any other coach, I'd still be defending him; I saw the interview and know what he said and in what context.
Still, sometimes he just needs to shut up...

There are a lot of Tebow haters out there on internet land (not here). Not sure if any of you have been following the fan Heisman ballot that counts as one of the 924 Heisman votes: https://r.espn.go.com/espn/contests/theheismanvote/thanks

Last week, Tebow led with about 17k votes and Chase Daniel was outside the top 5 with under 10k votes. Last Wednesday, he shot up 16k votes in one day cutting Tebow's lead. The same crap happened a few days later, but Tim led this morning by 2k votes. Yes, he was in the lead with something like 52k votes to 50k. Then **** hit the fan. Chase has had over 40,000 votes today, ridiculous. People are probably running programs to keep voting, but I bet there are a lot of rival fans that hate Tebow and don't want him to get this vote.

Btw, I want KU to win. I'm sick of all the media people comparing Chase Daniel to Tim Tebow. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LEAGUES. Tebow has set like 10+ records (national, conference, and team)

    Rock Chalk!

They do that at every game at UF (UFID :)). They didn't until '04 so my friend sold his 2003 FSU-UF tickets for a lot of money. Nowadays, you can't and some people get screwed that don't know student tickets require ID.

    Go Jayhawks!

I read what Saban said. I also read what the media had to say about it. That's the media being the media. My take on it was the same as yours. I only point out his actual faults, like lack of character and integrity. :)

I actually heard that LSU may try to get him back if Miles does leave. I hope not. Have you heard any of this? It seems unlikely but hell, this year, this game, anything's possible.

Honestly I think LSU would. I think based on Nick's statements when he accepted the Alabam job and before the LSU game this year, I truly believe he regrets ever leaving LSU. I think he was lured in by the bright lights of the NFL and once he was there he saw that the grass was not greener. He wanted to get out and Bama offered him his best opportunity but I think he was very upset that the LSU job was not available. He probably should have made a call to LSU before accepting the Bama job I think Miles would have been fired to get him back then. Now I don't know, does he have a buyout at Alabama or can he just quit and go somewhere else?
