    Here's a question guys.

I was offered the chance of an early 1990 348 TB in immaculate condition, with only 18,000 miles on the clock the other day. Originally a Swiss car.

Now my first reaction was: sorry, I need the later 2.7 ignition with the twin AF meters as this can be chipped. He assured me that his was actually that spec, with definitely two AFMs. Is this possible? Did Swiss cars get this upgrade earlier for some emissions reason or other?

Looking forward to getting back into a 348 again since I sold my Giallo Spider a couple of years ago (see the 2nd page of this thread, p2 or 15 depending which way you read!)

    al :)

As far as I know Al they all have two AFM (air flow meters). It's the TPS (throttle position sensor) that's singular on the early M2.5's. Swiss spec does have more emmission equipment.

I think it's possible it is a 2.7 car. From what I can gather the 2.7 was brought in 'during' 1990. LHD 'euro' spec cars seem to have got some updates before RHD/US cars too (Front battery, single plate clutch in an early 92' euLHD but not RHD for example).

replied to your PM Chris :)

Hmm, that's a point, I'd forgotten about single v twin plate clutch debate. The later cars had the single didn't they which is better by all accounts.

OK...Signed up for access in June...Had some problems getting activated...left it alone...got pissed...got a hold of FChat administrator fixed problem today.

    Hi Guys

I'm Lane from Connecticut. I am the very proud owner of 348 SS #64. I've been a Ferrari fan as long as I can remember. I saw my first 348 in 1992 at Limerock Park here in CT. Been saving ever since. Jobs change, homes change, circumstances change, Children strip our savings, we start again and finally succeed. I hope they don't ask me to sell it when tuition bills arrive, cuz that ain't happening.

    Anyway...here I am...Hi

FYI the Bosch Motronic 2.5 was standard on the 1989 models. The 2.7 was introduced in mid 1990 according to the Buyers Guide. I can't tell you what S/N had the first 2.7

I just scrolled through this whole thread and found that you've seen my car before posted by the previous owner. Oh Well...she's still beautiful...another look won't hurt

"Won't hurt" hardly applies. Each time one of these Prancing Horses leaves one barn for another, chemistry, dynamics and emotions are also changed. Our Ferraris are sensitive to those changes. It's a new day!:)

My Rachel (92 Mondial t Cab., red/tan and Valeo Equipped) has a 2.7 and I find it smooth as silk-------"works as it should" :)

    Anyway, Happy Holidays-----

    Hank
