Is the Aston Martin running?

 

my money is on that car,due to Will driving,

 

Should be a good combo.

However last time at PI in august I wasn't so impressed with the Aston, it ran well but didn't have the presence I thought it would on the track. The black 430 driven by Simonsen however was a different story along with the Gallardo of Bowe.

 

Is Bowe running?

 

From the quick look on the GtChampionship site it appears not.

Oh well, still will be some good racing. I reckon Sandown is a top track, was there a couple of weekends ago for the historics meet... a great day!

 

Noise around Lambo Melbourne is the Orange Gallardo has been sold out from under him... to Mr Ross Lilley....

No car available for Mr Bowe it seems... unless Mr Baird suddenly becomes unavailable or something

I was with Allan Simonsen at Sandown Yesterday and he was supposed to be testing the Black 430 to confirm that they have ironed out the problems that the car had at Oran Park.

Unfortunately due to the shocking rain they didn't test.

The Black Puttana was tested today and was found to be singing like a canary again. All bugs ironed and hospower is restored to an adequate level.

Also got a chance to blood the co driver with many rapido laps. It was great practice for him as the traffic was pretty thick. There's 55 cars entered for this weekends enduro and half of them would be MX5's!!

I hear that the 430's are a bit of a head ache!!

It's the only racing we have left. F1 Is Over, Nascar finished last week, Fia LMS Over at Brazil!

Aside from 1 V8 Race which will be a ripper and the Gay1 GP which is ****e!!

It is actually a Clone that started life as 911S that Iam currently having converted into RS Spec for Targa Tas Next Year. I have just had a Bare Metal Respray with a new 2.8 RSR engine and Gearbox with Wevo Shifter built. Unfotunately the total project is going to be up around $120,000- However it is going to be worth it!!

The car will be finished in 3 weeks.

I'll post some pictures once finished.

see...that's the difference btwn a ferrari and a porsche, for some reason.


you say 3 weeks for a porsche, and it's 3 weeks. for a ferrari 3 weeks = 3 months (at least).....and i've never been able to work out why that is.

 

Yup, might have to do with the fact that they are a lot more of a 'common' car, compared to most Ferraris. I remember finding parts for my old weekend toy, an '81 930, was easy as finding them for a generic camry etc. When I put some new shocks & springs in the car, it took a little over one week, from the first phone call, to the drive out of the workshop.

Its nearly almost two months *and counting* to do the same thing for our 400i. I guess its all part of the 'appeal'

I dig those PMO carbs and the eye glass level,I had a Wevo shift on my 3.0 car fantastic just keep the nylon bushes fresh.My car was a 3 litre Ben at Weltmeister did the motor,high comp pistons(10.5) heads ported they flowed over 300 hp,GE 75 cams,PMO carbs and we got about 260/270 hp when fresh. Weight about 1,025 kilos.If you need any ideas give us a buzz mine was a rocket ship,good handleing,brakes it had a lot of good gear in her.What I could do is look the parts bought and sourse and you make up your own mind.

 

Since I started the project in August I don't really consider that to be too quick, however George Cairns had the Engine and Gearbox built in 4 weeks.

The Body Shop has had the car for the majority of the time.

 

SSI Stainless Steel Heat Exchanges and custom made muffler through George Cairns.
