Wow, what a great effort so far! Some fun at the end of the Gorge Road stage today though, the Tifosi were out in force again this year, stopping each Ferrari with an F1 inspired paddle and displaying their presence with a gigantic flag. The lab coat clad brigade of Porsche fans were nowhere to be seen......
Was about 300 metres behind the 360's taking off at Macclesfield (in the long queue)....sounded awesome! Wish my car would rev like that. Heard about the over zealous boys in uniform.....sounded like they got quite upset....silly dudes.
Some wait for the bulk of them - I got tired of waiting for the last batch of cars (mhh + 15 Ferraris) as we'd already had a few hour-long breaks between cars due to crashes and it was already after 5pm. So I went off driving home, and on my way what did I see... first a 550, followed by a F430, then an F430 Spider, then an Evo, then a 308 GT4, then a red 360 Modena, then a black 360 Modena, then an Aston Martin, then.... well, I had great fun driving home.
CAMS and the cops have had a bonanza the last couple of days with fines ticketed out. Two well known Fchat identities have contributed well Off to the farter now....some of us have got to race tomorrow.

Great pics guys - thanks for sharing! We're coming 30th outright so hoping to continue improving on the last day without overcooking it. All the best for everyone in it and good to see everyone else enjoying the sights!
does look great. 365bb by the looks of it and early series going by number of slats on rear lid, so might be #17779 (owner in NSW)

Well, a day of disappointment all round really. The 360C decided to peg out mid way through the Mt Lofty stage with an electrics smell and various warnings of electrical woe indicating a charging rate of only 10.5V. The car made the flying finish, so the pics should be interesting. A borrowed supplementary booster battery was drained before the car even reached the Piccadilly stage, and more smoke emitted from the isolation switch even though it was off. The console was removed, and there were no obvious signs of damage apart from a very hot ceramic resistor on the isolation switch. The service crew who loaned the booster battery turned up again and had a better poke around, but could not isolate the problem. So the car was consigned back to the workshop on a flatbed. Despite a list of screwups as long as a jumbo size toilet roll on my part, thanks again to Goober for putting up with us! However the CA first timer hard-luck award must certainly go to Beama. Starting the day first in class, a relay decided to pop out of its mounting, and 20 odd minutes were lost isolating the problem. After such a gutting experience, and a slight faux-pas on the ramp, a heavy handed security guy picked on the wrong person to have a little joke with when he told Beama that the after event drinks were only open to navigators.........
well another event, we crossed the line in a re-stickered 308GTB as the 360Ch had alternator malfunction, luckily it did as the next few stages prior to problem had the RHR wheel peel off on the inside exposing the wire, at 200 +kph on a sweeper both Si fi and I would be like P.Brock......cactus island, anyway already signed and paid up for next year, looking forward to more prep and now that I know the car.....................its fcuking awesome, so much grunt from 40kph to 180kph, bit skitterish around gorge road, we caught again at Picadilly. anyway, the aussieexotics.com sponsored 360CH is a gem of a car, ash was stoked to get his name up on lights. the pres, capt cok head was true to form during the week, antagonizing his import 360 and red suit on.................what a tosser cisco, gary and i went out party time last night-------------they say some really nice things about an import mechanic..............NOT
Sounds like a **** load of fun Goober! the 308 was yours as well I presume? Any idea how the R34 Skyline N1 did? Any good? Are you going to do any other tarmac rallies in the 360CH?
yup nope, fast car, not as good as a 360CH..........but then nothing is other than a 430 challenge targa tassie 08
