Mizzou will be the new #1.

Alabama had it's chances in the Iron Bowl, but two penalties cost them the game: running into the kicker(a little acting helped) which would have given them the ball inside the 50, and a roughing the passer which, without, would have been a 3rd and long. In a game of field possession, those two penalties really hurt. Alabama is the least penalized team in the SEC, but they cost 'em tonight. Auburn didn't have any similar penalties.

Great game though. Typical SEC struggle, on the ground, no trickery(well, Auburn tried by moving about 5 men per play, but when they DID run their plays, they were straight up).
Auburn is allowed to brag about winning more consecutive games against Alabama than they ever have. For now...

Let's see if Tubby stays in cow country. Regardless if he does, the landscape of the SEC will be completely different next year. My prediction, as of right now, is Georgia in the East and LSU in the West, but that's if Less stays in Baton Rouge. If he leaves for Ann Arbor, it's going to be between Alabama and LSU for the West. (LSU is still loaded with talent, and any coach with that much talent should be able to compete).

Is there any other school that trashes it's own town after a win other than Auburn? I know there have been riots after Colorado/ Ohio State/ Penn State wins, but are there any other schools with the tradition of trashing their hometown?

Go Gators! Tebow keeps setting records. Tied the Division I-A (I-FBS now) record for most rushing TDs by a QB with 22. He can break that record at the bowl game since stats still count in post-reg season. Also set a new school record for total yards of offense in a season with about 30 yards short of 4k. Beat Rex Grossman's 01 total (when he was screwed out of the Heisman). Also continued the longest NCAA streak of games with at least 1 rushing and 1 passing TD in a game. Now stands at 13 games (dating back to OSU championship game win). No TEAM in I-A right now has that stat, only Tim Tebow. :)

Btw, I have a feeling voters will screw him out of a Heisman. Not by placing him at #2 on their ballots, but completely leaving them off their ballots. Darren McFadden only had about 400 people vote for him out of 880 last year. Pretty pathetic of voters to do that. I hate this crap so much. Chase Daniel isn't even that good. He's done nothing that will go down in NCAA history. He's not the best QB in his conference, which is Sam Bradford of OU that has already beaten him. Sam threw for his 32nd TD today setting a new NCAA record for a freshman QB. Go OU! Knock out that pretender Missouri. Thank god my parents moved to FL from MO before I was born!

Even though he deserves it, don't get upset if Tebow doesn't win the Heisman, at least not this year....

I won't be as pissed if Darren wins it. The kid plays with a lot of heart. Just as long as "Matty Ice" or Chase Daniel don't win it, all will be well...

With all these coaching changes you keep discussing you better throw in if Nick stays in Tuscaloser. I hear his bags are backed for a return to Baton Rouge. :) And for the third time his name is Les not Less.

There's some talk going around that Tebow had a bone in his right hand broken when he went in for his 2nd rushing TD. An FSU player apparently hit his hand with his helmet. Damn. The legend continues to grow.

I will copy this for you though. What's that 5 in row to LSU and 6 in a row to Auburn :)

    Bud light presents:
Bud Salute to Alabama..... Bud Light Salutes the Crimson and White

Announcer: Today we salute you, Mr. Delusional, Irrational Alabama redneck

    football Fan....

Announcer: Season after season, year after year, you try to justify how Bama

is back and ask why aren't we ranked higher.

Backup singer: Why aren't we number one??

Announcer: You scramble to make futile attempts explaining why the Tide

cannot keep a coach longer than it takes Bear Bryant to take a dump

Backup singer: Hope he wipes my face with his toilet paper!

Announcer: Inevitably, you'll bring up the past, and boast of championships

won 20 years before you were born.

Backup singer: We wore leather helmets!!

Announcer: You will point out that you have dominated college football and

won 12 national championships. Backup singer: So does Minnesota and Harvard!

Announcer: Be proud that the last seven years Alabama is eighth in the

conference in SEC wins going 26-30.

Backup Singer: That's two more than Ole Miss!!!

Announcer: Go on, ignore that home loss to La Tech, Central Florida, Northern

Illinois along with never beating Auburn in Tuscaloosa.

Backup Singer: That's what I call a home field advantage.

Announcer: And lets not forget not beating the "mediocre" team from the same

state in the last 5 years.

Backup singer: That's about 2200 days since a win!!

Announcer: And continue to believe that you'll actually win a National

Championship in three years with Savior O Saban

Backup singer: Not worth the 32 million with no buyout clause!!!

Announcer: So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, oh Emperor of Excuses, and

take comfort knowing that when you don't finish in the top 25, you'll be

guaranteed to be back to championship status when the season comes back

    around next year.

Backup singer: Mr. Delusional, Irrational and Hopelessly Pathetic Crimson

    Tide Fannnnnnn!

    I've looked. It's not.
Unless you can link me to your blog. ;)

That's great with your copied poem. It's fine that you think Alabama will never again compete for the SEC. The problem is, you've proven time and time and time again in this forum that you don't know much about football.

In the end, I think we both define our respective fan bases very well. You're the kind of person who likes to spread hate. I'm the kind of person who treasures the game. I take pride in my team, win or lose. You take pride in slinging dirt.
I, like many Alabama fans, believe that even though this has been a tumultuous decade for the Tide, the future is bright.
You, like most LSU fans, believe that LSU is here to stay, tradition means nothing, and that every team that is not LSU is worthless and overrated.

Keep your nose up, Frank. While you can...

However, I was impressed with Mizzou. Chase has an arm like a rifle. They have lots of weapons and a very opportunistic defense. The rematch with the Sooners should be a good one.

Too bad we won't be able to see LSU vs Mizzou for the Natl Championship.

SEC has more depth than any other conference this year.

This year shows how desperately we need a playoff system. That way a team who was conference champion could be natl champ no matter how many losses. Playoffs could be done in December. My $.02

LOL. I wonder if Kansas thinks he's overrated. He picked them apart. He doesn't throw many interceptions.

Didn't they have a statistic that his QB rating was something like 190 in the 4th quarter coming into last night's game. ;)

I didn't say he's not a good QB. He's a good QB, but the media really overrated the guy. His passer rating is 155.9 for the season. Not even top 2 in his conference (OU and Texas Tech QBs better). KU's defense = non-existent.

Nice way to cover up those stats with one of the most important ones: yards per attempt.

49 attempts for 361 yards, which is 7.4 yards per attempt. Not too strong.

Now Tim Tebow went against FSU's defense, which made Matt Ryan look like ****. He had 9.4 yards per attempt and 3 passing TDs as well (no turnovers). Passer rating of 181.81 in the game. Chase Daniel = FAIL

Btw, Tebow has the 3rd most rushing TDs of any player this season. Only Kevin Smith of UCF and Matt Forte of Tulane have more (25 and 23, respectively). That makes Tebow with the most rushing TDs of any BCS conference player. :)

P.S. Did I mention Tebow has the most yards per attempt in college football this year with 9.88? :) Chase Daniel with 7.98, only guy under 8 in the top 10 pass efficiency, LOL!

The Oklahoma vs Missouri game should be a good one.

Bradford of Oklahoma is the #1 passer in college football according to ESPN passing stats).
    2670 yds
    70.2%
    23 TDs 7 Ints
    OB rating 182.23

    Daniels of Mizzou is #8
    3951 yds
    33 TDs 9 Ints
    QB rating 155.92

    I can hardly wait.

BTW Tebow is #2 in the stats and a fine quarterback. ;)
